It’s not a world war until Ghana gets involved. Discussion over.

Already forseen this happening years ago when Murica attacked Libya, Syria... and supported revolutions in various other countries without any public opposition except Russia.

If Murica can do it legitly, Russia can also do it legitly (which they just did). And if these two big bosses can do it legitly then China, the last big boss, can do it legitly too. May God have mercy on south-east Asian countries.
FYI China had been doing it for quite a few decades. They just have not been very successful at it. Hence the major shift to economic power and now back to military power as they have upgraded their forces.

Nope. WWIII hasn't happened... Yet. The world is still needs an excuse before things really start popping off.

And, to be honest, with all the backlash from the invasion, I don't know if we're going to get to that stage. It wouldn't surprise me. But it is going to take a lot more convincing on the government's part to convince the civilians that going to war is a good thing.

I would say this is Cold War II, like how World War II is basically a continuation of World War I. (technically, the Cold War was also a continuation of the World Wars as well).

Or, maybe it could be the Cyber War (I).

I think the biggest war is not actually happening on the ground (even though it is horrible how people are being killed in Ukraine), but the attacks on technological infrastructure and the constant social engineering attempts everywhere.

Most of the big US tech companies are cutting their ties with Russia and the majority of hacker groups are attacking Russia, trying to make Russian civilians actually feel the consequences of Putin’s aggression, while Putin is trying to defend his actions through fear (sounds like it) and propaganda (both sides, honestly).

I think the biggest thing about this war is that it most of it will be through the internet. Whether influence through propaganda or social engineering (which admittedly has already been happening since perhaps 2016 and before, and propaganda has always been happening) or through cyber attacks on critical infrastructure that can distupt the daily lives of anyone at home (think, colonial pipeline ransomwear, and also on the IT army of ukraine which is encouraging Ddossing against many Russia websites, especially financial websites.

Hell, an instagram account of mine recently just got hacked (could just be a coincidence).

The World is split in two again. The Western World (US and allies) against the Eastern World (China and Russia and their allies). And with tech companies cutting ties with Russia, it basically confirms this is happening. Each will have their own separate internet, separate payment systems, separate economies, full of their own propaganda and social engineering. Like the Cold War again.

I doubt there will ever be a full scale conflict like World War I or II again. At the very least, it will be like the Cold War, with smaller proxy conflicts. Nuclear deterrents are pretty powerful, imo.

Although, it could be considered a “World War” since any nation connected to some kind of internet WILL and IS involved.
