So, one tool I love using is The Enneagram of Personality when developing characters. It's insanely useful, as it can help make sense of characters and help give direction beyond just the surface details. To show what I mean (and give an example of this in action), I decided to analyze and break down how to write an Enneagram 7 Hero.

Oh and if you want to identify your own character types, here's what I suggest: take this test as the character and see if the knowledge gained from exploring it makes you more conscious of things or open to possibilities you hadn't considered before.

If you do have a Type 7 hero, definitely look to Dante as an example. There are other good examples of characters who you can pattern things off of, but those are their own types as well it depends if they're heroes, villains, or whatever in between. I'll do those in the future if the interest is there.

But yeah, this is another practice that's ultimately helped me in the long term that I want to share with others.

Dante>everyone else
You're speaking my language!

...So long as it's actual Dante and not Donte.

It amuses me that the version of the character that's meant to be "literary" and "deep" is a walking pile of shit while the version mocked actually has tons of depth to him. Makes sense to me though: sometimes the best way to achieve things is indirect.
