I don't know if i'm the only one but i get displeased when i see crunchy number on this kind of novels especially on stats like intelligent or wisdom,i remember reading a novel where mc had 30k both stats but his character was combination of SpongeBob,luffy, naruto and asta,i definitely love character development and some growing but i don't like a retard foolish character especially when this two genre are involved.Atleast make him street smart when his thinking stats increase like that.

I have long since disregarded any mention of numbers, it was often wack or did not make sense. I had also disregarded rarity because what's the point of an ultra-mythical-legendary armor that could grant immunity and stuff but was never showcased anyway?

Halfway the novel you learn numbers don't mean much... even some authors just add them randomly.

It is always useful to at least outline what the stats mean and do - many LitRPG stories disconnect intelligence and wisdom from actual mental capabilities, instead using them exclusively for mana and/or magical power. This is especially relevant in stories that involve VR. Not sure if the story you read did that or not.

If the author doesn't do that, you can usually assume the numbers mean nothing.

Funny thing it was a vr novel...i'm used to intelligent/wisdom being linked to mana and what not and that's why author did in that novel, but there was a foreshadowing that something was gonna happen where mc will remove his goofy personality after a certain mark in those status...but author changed his mind halfway.

This is why my one attempt at a "System" novel does not have mental stats, just physical ones; you're either crippling the character by making it too low, or yourself by making mental stats too high IME.
