A guy comes to my server, "Where's the author?"

I reply and greet as usual. Then he asked me if I did story commissions (Not then). I asked plot, length, genre and other essential details.

Before telling me anything, he says, "I will pay you $500 in advance,"

...huh.

And then he wrote what he had wanted. Trust me, I will get cancelled if I talked about what he had asked for.

When I declined, he asked other writers in server, thankfully nobody accepted it (at least as far as I know).

Did you ever encounter anything similiar?

Glad to hear that.
My opinion may be unpopular, but writing fiction is very tiring, especially if you write dark fantasy fiction... I get depressed after writing 1 dark chapter... and don't dare to touch my fiction for a few days to a week. Especially if you are asked to write something creepy, and you don't like to... it will be more psychologically painful. So, if someone asks you, it's better to say, "No, thanks."

Over two decades ago, yes, and I was contacted over the old mIRC. I was seventeen at that time too.

Firstly, I was not interested in writing a crossdressing boxer in a submission fight. This thing was focused on the contender being distracted from hitting his target because of the aesthetics of exposed, hairy legs beneath the standing champion in a frilly skirt. It was proposed to me as "dark" because of how the conclusion of the fight was supposed to go. No, and no thanks given for the mental damage from the imagery I received. That memory still sticks, apparently, and I blame this thread for reminding me of it. Back to sinking into the abyssal bottle I go. :blob_dizzy:

yea. in messages. and in comments. they even dropped personal info on themselves.. like dude.. im pretty sure that's illegal??
I deleted it and reported it, not really to get them in trouble.. just if an admin can tell them not to drop personal info on themselves, or maybe watch out for them.. Idk man, some people need babysitters, and i worry if they're drunk, or not used to being on the internet???? i have no clue.
But yes. to go back to your question, i've gotten a few.. Commissions.. asked of me. I just delete their comments now.. I figure they're all bots at this point.. and I don't want to be responsible for any drunks. maybe if we chatted for a while first I'd think about it, but first comment or first message? no, I'm okay, thanks.. I mean take me out for dinner first before jumping into my writer's pants. lol

Wait - Crossdressing boxers? Sorry, but I find that concept weirdly hilarious. assuming it means they actually box in clothing of the other gender (and men and women are allowed to box - as long as they fit the right weight classes).
Now, cross-dressing WRESTLERS would be a bit more disturbing (and likely a soft X or hard R rating...)...

Years later, yeah, I guess I can laugh at that now.
But, yeah, I am totally glad I never ran across another person suggesting the same angle with wrestlers. :sweating_profusely:

Yes, ik it's very disturbing the kinds of things people imagine. But at a point you will realize, if he has the balls to talk about it. It just means there's worse. And personally me, I've heard something from somone who wanted something written so outrageous and revolting that I'm kinda unsensitized at this point??
