Let play a game.

I already made my world called Versoya. The process I used have Sci-Fi elements and Fantasy magic elements involved.
Blank -> Nanodotline Grid -> 1 Defect Pop -> 3 Burst -> Quark Bonding Chain Reaction -> Particles Formation -> Particles Nuclear Fusion Chain Reaction -> Molecular Fusion Reaction -> Atomic Fusion -> Matter Formation -> Elemental Reaction -> Activation Energy + Cell Formations -> Entity Organism

That Organism create the world by inventing elements and etc. via fighting or anything. Even sleeping count.

Flaws: Science units may be inaccurate, but energy making things come to life is close to Magic. It can be hard to explain process to readers.

So how do you make your world(s)? Describe your process.
Flaws of your worldbuilding method?

Lol, uh put some music and allow my imagination to do the work.

Work out the flaws while I write the story as they appear. :blob_happy:

be vague, mysterious, and only present the big picture with the main event, and no detail.

like for example, in a lot of novels, you hear stuff like the almighty being, created this world, and the gods, but then when it disappeared, the gods created tried copying him, and so the humans, demons, and beast kin appeared.

and by the way, this is a famous template, that is used too much, with only the name changed. as sometimes, there is no almighty being, and sometimes, there is a system, so just think of something along with those lines, something that looks cool, but doesn't give much information, and then just let your story develop slowly, with the event appearing.

for example, the history of the species in many series was actually not written before the start of the novel, but ONLY when the author reached a certain point when such a history is useful and logical, did he start thinking of it. so you too can just do the same.

find a simple template to use, and keep it vague and simple, and then as the story progresses, you start connecting the dots.

of course, there is another method for world-building, where the author just brainstorm randomly while writing books about the new science of their world, but that can be left for the super excited authors, not we the lazy ones,

You can just use the Boltzmann brain argument. Have the deity be a result of whatever spontaneous fluctuations. Or you can just go full Lovecraftian and make the entire universe just someone's dream.

Creating New World>Copying Earth's Template>Random New Factor Added>Change Made During X Earth's Age>Inserting New Earth's Ecosystem>Creating/Modifying New Earth's Races/Species>FastFowards Towards Novel's Setting's Date With New Variables.

Something like that? xD

The nice thing about having a multiverse is there's no reason to start from scratch every time. You only need to build it once.

For a new setting, I work backwards. What do I need for my character? A home, a town, a nation? Continent? Planet? Solar system? Probably doesn't need to go further than that. MAYBE I need a couple of different solar systems.

Flaws? It can be a little isolated from other parts of the setting, but that's kinda rare. And I guess I have to go back and 'fix' things that didn't take new events into account. That's usually done before any real commitments have been made though.

I don’t know, suddenly woke up and it’s already in my mind. Then I just got to modify it to make it suitable for readers.
