Being fully honest, the font hurts.
Have you ever tried using Canva? I've used their tools to font up my own cover.

Ohh this is epic! I believe this is definitely a cover you'd want to use a cool font for. The one you just chose feels more elegant and fancy, which I don't think fits the aesthetic of this interactive story that well. Try a "sciency", bolder font. Something that fits the "files" part of the title, like a documentation of a forbidden experiment.

It's an improvement, should try out different fonts and such. Canvas has some cool features that let you add outlines and glow effects. I did with mine because I like my bells and whistles. Try out some of these well-known, 'professional' fonts like Garamond, Baskerville, Caslon, and Bembo.

And if you need inspiration or ideas on what kind of cover style you want, Canva has a pretty good template list of examples.

I played around with stuff myself for awhile.
Did some mixing and matching, experimenting with different fonts.

Honestly, I like the 1st version. The handwritten in paint text has a unique vibe to it that matches the eyes. Sorta a blood dripping down the wall feel I'd you get what I mean. Depending on the vibe of the piece, I could see that working well.

The cursive font is terrible. Times new Roman isn't bad but I feel it doesn't quite match the rest is the cover.

That being said, there is something to say about the readability of the paint letters. That's going to be more hit or miss for each person versus the times new Roman being very readable. I would improve the handwriting a little bit (Make the capital i in insomnia better and the lower case i into a single line, remove the bit sticking out of the T, write the a like a typed computer a) and also turn the author name into a font text, prob times new Roman. The name is too condensed for the handwriting and detracts from the rest of it.

Kinda up to you on what to do in the end if you think vibes or communicating info is more important. For vibes, I'd go with the handwriting. For communication, the fonts are def better. The suggestion to play around with canva is a good idea too.

My iPad is too old to use that site… makes it lag and drain battery fast……

Oh, sorry to hear that. Didn't know you didn't have a computer.
The fonts available to you are still pretty decent at least.
My laptop is even older than my iPad, which is 9 years old, and takes 20 minutes to boot up, and another 20 to start running smoothly. Assuming that it isn’t out of battery and/or doesn’t need to update…

Suggestion, I like this one a bit better, it fits with the insomniac theme although it could do with a little more erratic writing, like having maybe a letter be more extended as if the person was dozing off while writing and made a mistake making it longer etc..
