Hey fellow scribblers, I would like some help regarding the contract offer. There was a person trying to offer me a Non-Exclusive Contract by https://www.emp-publisher.com/ . I would like some advice about this. Is this an actual stuff or fake. Do I need it or not?

Same here.

If they're just publishing your stuff on online sites where you can just do it yourself, what's the point?

Try to actively negotiate with them and I strongly advise you not to take any kind of standard contract unless you read them well. :blob_reach: If they actually respond and enter negotiations with you, then their offer - don't forget an opt-out clause for all cases - is probably genuine.

Hmm, that's true. I also did writing because I'm bored staying inside my home and I'm not above 17 years old yet to own a VISA account. :blob_hmm:

The contract is about publishing into other platforms, which I can make too. But I don't know about where this revenue coming from actually. From someone that willing to pay or from advertisements.

That is not your problem I would say. Your interest as an author is to be paid and not necessarily where the money comes from. My advice, just be careful, contract bind both parties and the potential consequences can be less than pleasant. So include an opt clause in the case, they try to screw you over. :blob_reach:

*cough* I'm an idiot, what is opt clause :blob_blank:

Also, their website was just created now and it was made in Wordpress. So that raises my suspicion a little bit.

An opt clause, I am not specialised in common law so pardon potential errors in terminology, is common clause included in all sort of contract to allow a certain party to terminate an otherwise binding contract prematurely under specified conditions. A classical example is the resolution of the contract in the case of an unfulfilled obligation - aka they aren't paying - after a certain period of time. :blob_reach:

Oh yeah, that's really suspicious.
So, in conclusion. This is a worthless contract.

It sounds a lot like Radish from a preliminary read. Since it is non-exclusive, you don't really have anything to lose unless you want to enter into an exclusive contract somewhere else.

I don't judge but I stand with facts and what I see. I see no contact infos to verify their authenticity. No address. No legit name. It may be a starting business, but as of now, nah! Though, their's chances. I'd rather not bet on chances with high potential risk. So, simply put, I don't recommend doing so.
