I actually don't like this idea at all. There might be potential for a 'Upcoming Scheduled Chapters' panel that tells you more chapters are inbound and when... But an upcoming books feature seems pointless. It's identical to just releasing the story without any chapters. (In other words, the feature is already present. It's also quite harmful to the story in my opinion. No chapters is a bad reputation.)
Imagine if two hundred people just released a 'coming soon book'. Some of them followed through on it, some of them didn't. Either way, you've wasted estate on the homepage for a feature that's literally just there to glance at, shrug, and go do something else until the book is actually released.
If you want to advertise your book, it's far more effective to write 5-10 chapters and then let people read them. Make posts on this forum, under your other books, on other websites... This is like... selling air. Or your stolen anime waifu cover, since that's all the people will be able to see.
You can't discover new things from different authors, for example.
In that case, a "Prolific Authors" panel would be better. For stories that don't have a lot of readers but do have a lot of words. Even that... I question the value of.
