A good cgi can make a trash movie wonderful while a bad cgi can make a good anime trash etc.

Because I can't hate or love it's CGI.
Aldnoah Zero's mechs are good CGI though, but I still enjoy mechs being drawn like IBO, Seed/ Seed Destiny, 00.

It's a shame they made Knights of Sidonia with CGI. The author is one of my favorites and I really hope his stuff does better. He's been churning out amazing sci-fi manga for years, but his most success he's had was Sidonia.

Knights of Sidonia is from the Mangaka of Blame, right? The Mangaka surely knows how to draw buildings, he's an architect I've heard.

Yeah, same guy. He's working on a manga called Tower Dungeon at the moment. It's pretty cool to see him do fantasy instead of sci-fi for once.

The aldnoah zero mechs anime cgi was atleast top tier and you definitely can't hate the gundam cgi.
My favorite.

The CGI in Ajin wasn't the greatest but the scene where the killer old man vs the Special Assault Force really stood out to me, it's probably because of the overall theme of the show.
Like I guess some shows would work better in CGI than others, but I think investing on testing which animation format fits a show / manga would be hard, higher ups probably wouldn't want to waste money.
Anyway, the least they could do is not end up like blue lock season 2.
