Why do you even cite wiki?
because, wiki being a site most people use and anyone can edit, it illustrates how the general japanese people call a cartoon like family guys an anime?
and because this is not an academic papers.
also because i brought it up to make a joke.
(i thought the statement 'watching western cartoon = weebs' in itself is ridiculous enough for it to be obviously a joke at the first glance.)
By anime we clearly mean Japanese (or at least asian animation) as opposed to the rest of the world. That's the point of the question at hand.
i know that anime in english and japanese have different impression if not different meaning entirely.
i brought up the japanese term because the topic was about
japanese animator, leading into my original question: if they don't want their animation to be called animation, then what do they want it to be called?
turns out they just use the full term of アニメーション instead of the short term アニメ, which i agree as the former gives a more accurate impression of their works.
i wouldn't call them 'most' japanese animator like your original post, though.
that 'most' word was probably what got me confused in the first place because most japanese people don't distinguish anime and animation, using both terms to describe the same things
