Liver

A bright green and dark brown cube, more than half a chi long on each side.
Once a functioning design of cinnabar lines and moving teeth of bronze,
Broken shards of rust are all that remain.
A scrap of paper is jammed into one of its many jagged crevices.
Though the paper is aged and creased,
And dyed by various stains,
The note remains surprisingly legible.
