Hey all,

New author here. I made a cover but I don't want to use it if it's against the rules. The gimmick is I'm writing a pastiche of pulp sci-fi....so I have a pulp sci-fi cover. But I'm not sure if it's within the rules

We do not know the exact nitpicky-ness of the semi-automated-cover-rejector. It's better to just upload it and see if it gets rejected.

And even then you can get relief. Covers are evaluated by an auto-bot, not a human.

The cover in my signature was rejected for "too much skin." I wrote to the administrators via the "Contact Us" link (during normal business hours), and my cover was manually approved within twenty minutes. The staff are reasonable and very helpful.

Speaking of your signature, you might want to reduce it down to 200px before someone decides they don't like it taking up that much space.

I know!!!! I've tried several times. I hate this text editor. I've gone into BB Code mode a bunch of times and tried to reduce it. Table embedding, inline CSS, everything. But whatever I try, it always gets saved as raw code and doesn't get rendered.

And I can't upload a smaller cover. The auto-bot in the publish area rejects it. This cover was manually approved, so I'd have to go through that rigamarole again.

I'll probably just delete it if I get complaints. This forum is all authors anyway. There aren't any readers around here.

Alski, thank you. I noticed your little game with spoilers (cute by the way) and realized I could wrap the image in one of those. :D Kind of a moronic solution as it defeats the whole point (impulse clicks), but it's good enough. If there were any readers here I might give a swut, but there aren't, so I don't.

... why not just edit a copy in paint and upload it to an image hosting site to use.

Fixed it, see above. :)

And now, fixed it even better. This site saves thumbnails of various sizes. Still, I wish the BBCode feature really worked. Oh well. Thanks again.
