So I've been thinking about using some random story generator to emulate my janky Xuanhuan / LitRPG idea (for example) that I'm too lazy to write atm.

Any good story generators that let me decide the premise and able to follow up the ideas well enough? not just continuing where I left off and often missing the point entirely.

I don't really like using NovelAI due to their imposed limits. So anything that gives me the full value by signing up at max (and it's a safe site with no malwares and stuff), I'm game.

from the site itself. not sure if anyone here already tried and i'm curious about your experiences.

and the last line is "refine AI-generated content to ensure that it meets your standards and goals for your story."

Ai-chan's experience with AI Dungeon

You are Ai-chan, a survivor trying to survive in a post apocalyptic world by scavenging among the ruins of what is left. You have a backpack and a canteen. You haven't eaten in two days so you're desperately searching for food. You enter a rundown building and see the sign "JUNK CARS" before noticing a noise. You slowly turn around and notice a door behind you.
You open door.
You open the door and find a man tied to a pole in the middle of the room. He seems to be in a great deal of pain. He cries out in agony as you notice his leg is bleeding.
You search the room.
You search the room and find a large knife, a radio, a box of bullets, a small notebook, and a small bottle. The man cries out in pain again.

What will you do?
You put knife around your waist; put radio, box of bullets, notebook and bottle into your bag.

You pull the knife out of your waist and put it on your back. You then grab your bag and head to the door.
You go back into the room.
You take the knife in your hand, grab your bag and head to the door.

What will you do?
You interrogate the man.
You head back to the man in the room. He seems very calm and collected.

"Where are you from?" you ask him.
"I'm from the USA," the man answers.
You ask uSA where?
"The United States of America," the man answers.

You walk over to him and notice he seems very familiar with the layout of the city.
You ask him to tell you where the gold is.
The man seems very tired and his eyes seem to be losing their luster.

"I'm just a man, just a man in a great deal of pain," the man says as he looks at you.
You ask where is the gold.
"I don't know," the man says, "You'll have to figure that out for yourself."

You have a few options. You could try to shoot him or stab him.
You stab him in the face.
You stab him in the face, he cries out in pain.

You check his pockets but find nothing.
"This city used to be a paradise," the man says,
You ask and?
Please log in or create a free account to continue playing.
Also...

You charge forward in spearhead formation.
You all ride forward, spears at the ready. You charge forward, firing your spear at anything that moves.
That wasn't what Ai-chan ordered. Fucking noob captains.

Are you looking for something free? NovelAI has no imposed limits on text generation at $10/month and higher.
If you need a free veresion and you're tech-savvy: KoboldAI
Otherwise, sign up for the trial of verb.ai

Those all have some ability to remember details of a story in a persistent way, unlike other tools. That's probably the #1 feature I would look for that distinguishes storytelling AI from each other, along with ability to specify writing style.

However, there is no AI tool right now that will start with a premise and follow up ideas for a very long stretch. They all need steering to keep on track, though depending on the story and how much you care about it following a close course vs. drifting, you can do minimal steering.

is there any content warning for verb ai though? i just tried it and i tend to go for really raunchy writings when i'm in the mood.

edit: it probably wasn't the best one if you want it to write smut (or it probably since what i wanted is kinda complicated) :/

Yeah you’d want NovelAI or KoboldAI for smut.
This stuff uses lots of processing power on big hardware. Unless you can run it on a beefy machine of your own, you’re going to end up either paying someone a subscription, or trying to ride on a (probably temporary) free trial of an early-stage startup like verb.ai, and those are unlikely to prioritize smut. There aren’t many free lunches yet in the land of Large Language Models, just like anything that eats up tons of cloud resources.
