Someone asked about worst tropes here. But I want hear about best. What trope you actually want to see more in some storys.

It's not trope I think. But I want see how mc do some mistakes or if story is have tragedy element. I want to mc do some errors in life decisions. Like Demian. Not just car crash or cancer.

Compassionate Protagonist.
Getting the Good End even when it isn't reasonable.
Immortality with no strings attached.
Shapeshifting Mischief maker.
Affectionate moments with Love Interests - Children - Pets - Others.
Learning about the World - Magic - System - etc.
Sincerity.
Why is everyone hot? (A rhetorical question, and yes, this is a good trope.)
Negotiation actually working.

Maybe more later.

My favorite trope is the, ‘male and female child hood friends make promise together, but are separated because female friend has immeasurable talent, and male tries desperately to catch up.’

It’s very specific but I’ve seen it enough times to call it a trope

Personally, misunderstandings.

The fun kind, like "Fake Saint of The Year" and "Tilea's Worries". Not the "Oh my god, my BF is hanging out with my BFF, he's cheating!!!" kind.

I'd like to see more creative antagonists and solutions to problems besides just killing everyone and everything "just in case". When I was in school there were sources of conflict outside of just an evil person or a monster or whatever. Maybe winter comes early and the protagonist has to overcome it. Maybe they are poor and they have to build a business from the ground up. Maybe they just don't get along with someone, but no one is truly evil or in the wrong and they can just part ways. There's lots of ways to go about things besides the trust no one kill everything way I see in stories far too often lately.
