I'm thinking of posting the chapter i made around 3:00-3:30 when school ends and the teens swarm the site. But is there a better time?

I don't think there is a best time to be honesty. Just pick one that works for you and go with it, consistency is more important than anything else.

I have a small, loyal group of followers for my novel. They usually comment and interact a lot whenever I release a new chapter (mainly on RoyalRoad). Last week, I saw a post where someone said they skyrocketed their views just by changing their release schedule. I decided to try the same to get more attention. The result? Not only did I get the worst view count ever, but it also seemed like my followers missed the release entirely and barely engaged.

So... I think there are a few possible explanations:
  • Today’s chapter was terrible, and nobody enjoyed it.
  • The guy was trolling, and I fell for it.
  • What worked for him just doesn’t work for me (different audiences, etc.).
  • I got unlucky.
I’ll probably never know the truth, but I’ve learned my lesson lol. I’ll go back to posting at my usual time and see if my views and engagement bounce back.

the best time is: Consistency. It doesn't matter the specific time of day that you post it (except with new stories. It's best to find a slot where potential readers + chapter are active on the site at the same time. but this can vary greatly with 3 variables - who your potential readers are, your schedule as a writer, and your specific time zone versus your potential readers time zones).

All this is to say just post it. The following is a 'little' dirty, so I can't recommend you follow it, but i've seen some people post their actual chapters consistently, then posting their "announcement" chapters at a different time on a different day. It'll be there when your normal readers check, but it'll also put you in the "recent posts" lists outside of your normal time to possibly entice new readers.

Again, dirty, but I don't believe it's explicitly against the rules, aside from MOST announcements likely belonging on your page or in a chapter, rather than as a separate chapter unto itself.

My audience is small, and I’m okay with that, I know my genre isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. That said, I’ve found much more success on RoyalRoad than here. I have 9 readers here, but I’ve never interacted with them; no comments, likes, or even hints about what they think of the story. It’s like sending chapters into a void honestly :blob_pat_sad:
On RoyalRoad, each new chapter usually gets around 100-200 views within the first 24 hours. Here, all my new chapters still got 0 views.

But again, I know I’m writing a genre that’s pretty niche in the webnovel world. So I wouldn’t take my experience as a rule of thumb

Not niche, more like "wrong environment" (Edit : but yeah its now more niche as isekai became more mainstream now)
You wont get views when you post yuri in a fujoshi website. (example) (also yeah, there is a female oriented R18syosetuJP "moonlight" and they somehow only 5+ yuri)

SH now.
Is more for isekai, oretueeee (OPness), and having a good dose of adrenaline. Basically the place to get high.
.........................oh and NSFW but that is just a small part of SH. probably........................

Meanwhile Royalroad is indeed totally fitting the theme of your story (judging from the title).
Analogy: There is like the tabletop players, the warhammer figurines crafters etc together in same room
so yeah its normal your series is like a fish in the water there.
