So, I've tried out quite a few search engines/browserd over the years. Honestly, it's hard to review and rank all of them since they've been dear to me for quite a while... yes, I can no longer live without the internet.

However! This does not mean I don't prefer certain ones over others! I do!

In my opinion, I have a short list of all the search engines I've ever used, ranking them down.

1. First place comes Brave. It is highly customizable and has secure browsing... not to mention free adblock. And, it uses less storage and memory than most others that are in the market. Lightweight and secure.

2. Firefox/Google. Both of the are tied at second because both run well for normal usage. Alas, they both have gotten increasingly less favorable to me as more and more updates come and go and stuff starts loading slower. I don't have that much bone to pick with either of these (especially Firefox since it, too, has adblock), but I also don't enjoy them as much as I used to. That's about it. They've become very plain for me... as well as not-storage-efficient (I'm looking at Google). I kind of also don't like how Google's removed tons of useful features like Search by Discussion which essentially searched up forums.

3. At third place comes DuckDuckGo... it's not my go-to search anymore due to them starting to filter and censor stuff, but I can accept it.

4. Yahoo. Yes, I was alive when Yahoo was the dominant search engine. It's fine. Nothing more.

5. Bing. Also fine.

Those are my top 5 choices. There are more search engines/browsers listed up in the poll, however, I don't want to rank all of them.

What's your favorite search or list of favorite engines/browsers? Why?

EDIT: I kind of messed up... it originally said Search Engine only, but... I listed browsers as well... so it's been changed.

Brave wins easily. One of the dudes they are affiliated with has this as the ad.

Zucc the cuck drinks water like a duck but he also drinks your data. So tell him and google to shove your data up their shwing shwangs by downloading Brave browser. It's free and blocks online advertising and protects your privacy and data from evil tech companies. You only see ads if you want to see them and get cryptocurrency for your attention. Don't let Zucc use you to make a buck. Download Brave by clicking on the link down below.

Also duck duck go is beginning to censor stuff, the ceo or something of it basically killed their reputation of an anti censorship browser in one tweet. Dead emoji. Rip bozo

Bing because they don't give a damn about what they show you. You want barely functioning shady websites for stuff? It gives it to you. Also, pics don't get censored out like google or ask.

I still use Dogpile after 20 years. How ever I use Google for maps and translator. Also Google's image search tends to have better results.

I still use Dogpile cause it posts the results of a combo of other search engines. meta search usually gets me more than any one engine.

Those are web browsers, not search engines.
Edge forced itself onto my computer. I was really pissed because it shut me down in the middle of a HotS game.

I wonder why no one has mentioned how you've said search engine, and yet have placed both search engines, and web browsers on the poll, :blob_hmm_two: :blob_cookie:
This has lead to me being very confused on what to pick, since the two are very different things, :blob_cookie:
Ah, it wasn't a trick question. Just me not thinking it through. Pick whichever suits you~

Yeah, Edge is a case of how not to get people to use your browser. Its practically malware, which is why I personally won't touch it, and why I used my knowledge of computers to disable it. By the way, they don't make that easy since it acts like malware, and even better installs its .exe in multiple locations. Not to mention that if you don't disable it properly it simply reinstalls itself. Worse it will try to makes itself your default, and pirate all your settings from your real preferred browser.

Slipped my mind. Never used it before, either, though I know of it... added it onto the poll.
Opera is pretty cool, with ad block, VPN and a cool ui. I use OperaGX, and often use the flow feature to quickly go from phone to computer. Better than edge, but probably not top as I have a few issues with the mobile interface lacking in the settings that edge has. Some features are in Chrome and Edge, but are not in Opera.

Yandex in my opinion
When it comes to conveinience in day-to-day life, google has gone very far in it. I use it when I have to write a report and google some (scientific or mathematical) fact.
But google sucks when it comes to getting to download content or even pirate it (and I am pro-piracy), in which case I advise to use either DDG or Yandex.
Now, when it comes to privacy - then it's either DDG or Brave for you. There really isn't any other way. Well, maybe SearchX or some webcrawler, but I don't use them, so I can't tell you that.
When it comes to unbiased results - then it's, believe it or not, yandex, although they seem to be using some algorithm manipulation. I did two searches "blonde braids" and "ukraine war" in DDG, Brave and Yandex - since the rest seem to be not good enough to even consider to test. I suggest you do the same, since I am not going to spend half an hour to explain what results I got. Interestingly enough, Yandex, while putting RT news first on the second search, did put western media sources such as NY times and the Guardian immediately after. DDG's creator had made a tweet about how they are going to intentionally downrank russian news sources, so I didn't even run the second search there. Brave seems to also downrank Russian news sources, though whether or not it is done intentionally or by the actual majority searches, is not what I can tell.
