Best chapter size

I tend to write longer chapters (2.5k to 5k), but in terms of reading, it's 2k to 3k words.

The best chapter size is the one that allows you to be the most consistent

My preference is around 4-5k. I don't mind longer either, but argument can be made about lacking structure/pacing with really long chapters.
About 1,5k words is the minimum I will read.

As for those who consider bellow 1k words chapters as optimal - how? I honestly don't understand that. You barely start reading and the "chapter" is already over. No room to develop the story, world and characters in any meaningful way either.

I try to be flexible. My minimum is 1,200, my goal is always 1,600, my maximum is 2,200. I try to flex toward the longer said, make every word count, and go under 1,600 as little as possible. If a chapter doesn't have a natural break I won't hesitate to go above the limit.

For reading, I don't really mind, there is always the next button if I want more words.

For writing, I've been leaning closer towards 2k as time progresses. I've tried going on the shorter end around 1000 or less, but I found it was rarely enough to convey what I want in a chapter. 2k is still likely my upper limit due to my writing pace as any more than isn't feasible for me. So I usually am around the 1.5k range.
