The only thing I know about that is that it's full of pretenders that say they are atheist because they think it's "cool".

I'm not sure I got the impression. They seemed to have a pretty bad experience with religion, though. Well, this is reddit, so you can't tell how much of it is fabricated or one sided. One thing, however, is certain is that they are more on the extreme side of things; stuff get political often.
