Do you like silence when you read or do you prefer reading listening to music?

If you like listening to music as you read what do you listen to?

I personally like to read in silence, though occasionally I get in the mood to listen to some rock or some anime openings while reading~

I have music playing near constantly, bands like enya, enigma, deep forest, and delerium. It's mostly instrumental, soft, and more on the calming side with more upbeat stuff scattered around to keep me awake.

Try movie bgm and game osts, they have just about anything from down right creepy, scores to uplift your soul, or make you cry...

I prefer silence when reading, too. I taps away to match the beat of songs I hear so even instrumentals are distracting. On the other hand, I don't like the sound of chattering people while reading, it's as if my brain tries to understand them even though it is impossible.

I need bg noise, but talking tends to distract me. Even at restaurants with friends, I'll hear the conversation behind me. Was entertaining for my swedish girlfriend, because any time an American started talking near us I had a tendency to walk up just to say hi... which is the opposite to my normal introverted personality. xD

I just got the same vibe I get from those "most interesting guy in the world" Dos Equis beer commercials.....

I dont always listen to background music, but when I do...

Sometimes metal, sometimes symphonic rock, sometimes classical, sometimes anime, sometimes game, sometimes film, sometimes tv series, sometimes electro swing, etc...

There are some pretty good ones out there to listen to~
For a game soundtrack, I highly recommend the Nights of Azure soundtrack.
