So follow up with MHA and Solo Leveling's Awakening style, it is similar to the standard coming-of-age awakening ceremony in some novels.

As in, what you get might be random as hell like lottery. You might get trash, you might get gold, you might get something that will kill you on the spot or get nothing at all.

Of course, I will not argue about the main pro of it; even the lowest of low and poorest of poor could have their lives turn to good once allocated with a good class/ job/ superpower. The chance is low but still there.

This is just my rant on the randomness and the occasional lack of explanation of awakening procedure.

Basically they're trying to insert the element of surprise and tension in the story. It won't be fun if they're predetermined ?

Yeah, I read that during Stray Cat Strut.

Suddenly MC gained a point system that allows her to buy weapons and healthpacks just by completing quests.

Might be something odd, but I find such a surprise to be both welcoming (when in danger) and foreboding (no gift is free).

Yeah, lottery. Wahoo. The Author determines who gets lucky, though.

Solo leveling has one of the worst power systems imo. Sung Jin Woo got the Shadow Monarch's powers because god's creations decided to do that, and then bam, everyone else is irrelevant. There's a grand total of one lady who can boost the ability limit for hunters, but only really helps the strongest hunters, and still doesn't do anything in comparison to Sung Jin Woo. Wow. Cool. So fun. How interesting.

It's like, they flooded Earth with gates and mana to acclimate it to mana, so it can somewhat withstand a battle between the god's creations? Ok, sure. Soo... Why does mana only affect humans at birth? Why can't they train to harness mana and condense it or use it to enhance their bodies further? Meh, who knows. It just randomly hands out powerups. Amazing. What brilliant design.

Yeah, whatever. The story follows Sung Jin Woo, not the other boring hunters who never grow, so who cares about the side characters?

It's fine for me if some people are lucky, but if there's mana or something, it just sucks if it's hand-waved away and just set so that no one can grow.

Yeah.

And that is my gripe. Everyone got left behind for Sung "Suck my cock" Jinwoo.

Not that CN has anything better because they try to put martial cultivation into it and till now I am still baffled.

Yes, they put in shits like "qi condensation" and "iron body" etc. They try their best using their history to write the future and it always sound tacky.

For LitRPGs and system based, it is purely a number game where repetitive motion is king. Do enough push-ups and suddenly one can push mountains because the strength stat is so high etc.

And then there is genetic manipulation from Xmen and cybernetics from guys who think "the flesh is weak and only metal persist"

There is so many things on the table.

And I don't want to talk about Solo Leveling because it is shit. Only Sung gets level ups, everyone else gets to suck his cock.

In the Solo Leveling Sequel his son can also Level Up and his System helps the other young monarchs also Level Up, instead of a Solo System it becomes a Party System. There's also a drug that enhances the power of Hunters, but then again, this isn't the author learning from his mistakes, as the sequel was apparently written by another Author altogether, someone well known for writing stories drive by groups of multiple characters.

Lol it took another author to fix the dude's mistake.

But seriously, I am getting Boruto vibes.

I understand your issue with solo leveling's system by why did you mention MHA's system with it? Yeah, in mha your power is locked in, but you're still able to strengthen that power through hard work, unlike solo leveling.

I wouldn't say it's a "lol" moment, bro died, how do you expect him to improve the story?

Eh, the title of the novel is literally called 'Solo Leveling'. In Korean (the og), it's 'Only I Level Up'. If you looked at said title, then at the edgy art, and decided, oh! This novel should be about everyone being able to level up!

...Then you are the idiot(?) :blob_whistle:

Besides, irl we're all born into a lottery too. Sucks.

I guess you could compare it to Boruto but Boruto is by far just worse than Naruto, while Solo Leveling: Ragnarok is better in every way than Solo Leveling, it even has an interesting villain that doesnt die instantly after meeting the mc once.

It's just naruto except all the characters are burrito themed.
That's interesting. Call me crazy, but I thought for some reason it might have been the name of Naruto's son, and it was the name of the sequel, taking place in a Hidden Leaf Village where an Uchiha needs to wear glasses.
Luckily, it's just Burrito Naruto. What a weird hallucination. Somebody must have spiked my tea.

Did not read the work. Apologies if I misjudged Ragnarok.

Still, the first work made me quit, even if the sequel's art is fantastic, I probably will not indulge it.

Kudos to rectifying the issue of only Sung leveling up.
