As a reader: Which one do you like - a webby plot or a straight plot?

Hmm I see. Well as a reader, I suppose I prefer webby but only if it is done well. I feel that it could become very confusing if the author doesn't think things through, but if they do think things through that it makes for a much more interesting story. My own story is extremely webbed with so many things happening at the same time in different places with different people, and I love the aspect of seeing everything all come together in one big climax.

I like webby plots more, b/c I get tired of reading the same character's POV throughout the same story. Makes for more expansive and interesting reading, b/c I love what other subplots there are. I'm just a bit scatter-brained that way, I guess.

If you mean complex and simple then I prefer complex, BUT there are times that I just want to relax and read some dude power levelling or going through cultivation stages and all that. Another problem with complex plots is that it's disadvantaged in a web serial setting because the chapters trickle out. Complex plots are best for stories that have tons of chapters when I find them, I can just binge and enjoy all the twists and turns. But if it's just starting out, it's hard to get into it. That's why stories with linear plots, mostly levelling etc, have more followers because it's easier to get into given the per chapter release of web novels. At least that's my observation.
