Yes. 100 times out of ten, yes. I’ve planned a few things..

For me, it's fun to put my characters in tough and painful situations but I also find it fun to get them out of it. Writing realistic scenarios of how they could overcome adversity is one of the fun parts of planning a story. That and trying to think of creative ways to one-up each conflict and up the stakes every time while also levelling up the characters to overcome that.

Not really. My characters do go through suffering, but I suffer together with them, as I can't write without entering my characters. It's more of a mutual suffering for the sake of the story than a sadist torturing of the poor characters~
