I write events from the starting point, continue to at least 2K, and then keep going until I find a natural point to pause at. The pause may continue with the same character in the next chapter, or switch to a different PoV character, depending on what seems best.

If the 3 act structure is the first introduce settings and characters, then introduce the conflict, then reach peak of conflict resolve it and tie loose ends.. Then no... At least don't use that format often. Because Sometimes end my chapters in cliff hangers.or sometimes the "conflict" isn't actually resolved.

I don't really think of it as the three-act structure, but I often have one particular thing I want to talk about each chapter.

So it stands to reason it gets introduced and we see some kind of resolution by the time the chapter is over.

However, it's all me just winging it and following my instincts.

Looking at it, I think most of my arcs are written in a three act format, but some arcs are one chapter long, while others take ten to resolve.

3-act structure is for the whole story. It was designed for plays and epics (poetry). Using it for each chapter is too restrictive and stifles your style. Ai-chan would use it for arcs, but not for chapters. Ai-chan isn't fond of 3 act structure, to be honest. Apart from as an experiment in school, Ai-chan had not used it much.
