I go back and forth. Sometimes the extra brightness of light mode helps me feel more awake. Sometimes it's irritating.

Depends on the site.
Scribble light mode.

I tried to the dark mode a couple times, but I couldn't get used to it. Pretty much all reading sites are light mode, dark mode reading just doesn't work for me.

I read in light mode when I 'm plugged in, but download in dark mode to use less battery life when I read it-- plus I'm usually reading it at night. I do download the current chapter of a series in light mode, so I can easily spot it & then go into Downloads to erase it. Probably irritating both sides here by being practical!

That actually sounds impractical.

I use light mode, because I assume that's what most people use-- the method to swap it isn't obvious and it doesn't save after swapping it

I'd rather know how most of my readers see a thing. Also I tend to write/edit in a "dark mode" type setup, so it helps me to "see the text with new eyes" that way (in theory)
