Apology and Clarification for Previous Thread ?

Greetings everyone,

I’m the co-author, and I want to take full responsibility for the mistakes that were made.

The AI-generated self-promo post was a huge mistake on my part, and I completely understand why it upset people. I also regret the use of an AI-generated cover image. As students, we don’t have the funds for custom art, but that’s no excuse. It was a poor decision, and I’ll make sure we do better in the future.

We also got Tired of low Visibility and made a bad call with cross-promotion. It was wrong, and I fully own that mistake as well. I'm ready to openly accept my previous mistake to make up to you all.

We’re committed to improving and making sure this doesn’t happen again. Once we have the resources, we’ll invest in better art and do everything with more care.

Thanks for pointing out our mistakes. I hope you’ll give us a chance to prove we’ve learned from this.

I’m the co-author of the story in question, and I want to offer a sincere and unfiltered apology to this community. The recent self-promo post was poorly handled. It was made using a generic AI response and posted in the wrong format, which understandably frustrated a lot of people. That decision was on us, and I take full responsibility.

My co-author is still learning, and I failed to guide him properly on how to interact with forums like this. I should’ve stepped in sooner—and for not doing so, I’m sorry. I also want to address the AI-generated front page.

The truth is, we’re both students and don’t currently have the funds to commission custom art or afford a tablet. That said, this isn’t meant as an excuse. In hindsight, it would have been better to go without a cover than to include one that misrepresents the effort behind the project. That’s a mistake we’ll learn from. Once we're able to afford a tablet or earn enough—which we're actively working toward—we fully intend to reinvest into this project and upgrade the visuals with something that properly reflects the heart we've put into it.

Only the self-promo reply was AI-generated. The actual chapters are not AI-written. They’re based on our own references, creativity, and effort. We understand the story might still come across as generic—and honestly, that’s fair feedback. This is our first serious attempt at fiction, and it’s become clear we have a lot of growing to do. We appreciate the criticism—it’s exactly what we needed.

As for the cross-reviewing… yeah, that was another poor decision. We were frustrated by the lack of views and let that get the better of us. It wasn’t right, and we own that too. We got greedy, and that’s not the kind of creators we want to be. To everyone who called this out: thank you. If you hadn’t, we wouldn’t have realized how badly we messed up. I now see how our actions impacted ratings and trust, and I don’t take that lightly. All I can ask for is a second chance—not because we deserve it, but because we genuinely want to grow and do better. We’re committed to making this right, and we promise you that none of the actual chapters are AI-written or low-effort.

We’re building something from the ground up, and we’ll continue to revise, improve, and deliver a vision we believe in—slowly, but with integrity. If you’ve read the story, I’d genuinely appreciate any feedback on what parts felt weak or disappointing. I’m here to listen and learn. We’re not going to run from criticism—we’ll use it. Once again, I’m truly sorry for the trouble we’ve caused. Whether or not you decide to give us another chance, thank you for holding us accountable.

You remove the vote by removing the novel from your reading list. I rate my own novels to tweak with the overall rating, and I bet I'm not the only one.

You remove it from your reading list. I rate my own novels to tweak with the overall rating, and I bet I'm not the only one.

I think it just means that we are looking forward to chatting and engaging with people and creators here. Nothing too deep—probably overthought it a bit (though I’m not really in a position to be saying this?).
