You should play it, Pussy of Eternity is a really great game. It's 5% action and 95% of the OTHER action, if you know what I mean ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I really loved Deadfire and wanted to replay it (never beat the game) but... the game's opening is soooo slow, I just don't want to deal with the whole ship wreck opening again, so I've been putting it off.

deadfire is an alltime favorite of mine though i don't think i have it in me to replay. by the way, did you play the first one? kinda curios about the expirience of starting out with deadfire

I played them both in order, the opening doesn't really change, you still go into the character creator, only difference is the default character is your character from the previous game. But it lets you mod everything, and then just pretends like you're the same person.

I have no idea whether you're referring to Path of Exile or Pillars of Eternity.

If you're talking Path of Exile, I put in 2000+ hours into that game and was glad to quit last fall. From what I understand, they made some good changes and added a lot of QOL, but the damage has been done.

I'm 100% happier not playing that timesink of a game anymore, where there are still many grueling issues that Chris Wilson refuses to address like RNG crafting, a lack of a proper currency trader to combat botting, an in-house pseudo-auction house, and auto-looters due to how many fucking items that drop in that game (many of these issues of which, are already addressed in the Chinese client thanks to Tencent).
