Are they common?

Second time I see a comment like this one.

They resume the chapter with AI and then try to get the author to contact them outside the site.

Anyone knows what their objective is? I'm curious

I already had it couple of times, with people that wanted to get you to commission them for an illustration at sums that are not even funny.
I have an artist in my family I could ask for illustrations, I know how expensive that could get, but I don't mind to pay much for good work.

Even when i tell them I have an artist in my family they are persistant in selling it to you. I'm done discussing, and just block them now.

Nobody loves us starving authors. We're just scammer food and AI trainers.
Only if they were artists indeed... They use ChatGPT to generate. Not even their personal model, just some publicly available AI that's free to use. I have yet to meet an actual artist who comes to me, saying they made a fan art because they liked the story that much, and it actually matches what I wrote. :sweating_profusely:

Honestly, it's the bad human that uses bot for their own purpose that gives Ai the bad rep. #botlifematter

Harsh words full of criticism of content are more honest than empty words of praise that deceive.

My novels are so lonely that I'm already happy having these bots comment on my work ?

Just the usual "contact me outside of this convenient platform, preferably in a way that would give me your personal information" scam, this time mixed with the "Your work is amazing, I can sell you this art/idea/service and I'm totally not going to rip you off and steal your personal information" scam that has been going around a lot.

Their objective is always the same, money. Either by stealing and selling your information, or by ripping you off directly, but preferably both.

Money. They want to ask for money.

Just report their account. I usually do so, maybe even link a screenshot I upload to imgur. The accounts are usually banned.
Yeah. These ones are really prevalent on Wattpad. Looks like they are slowly making there way here. It's a BS ChatGPT response.

not just on Wattpad, but FanFiction.net too. I replied to them once, thinking that they're legit, saying that I'm already retired from fanfiction gigs.

But upon realizing the patterns of each private messages I received, I knew something was fishy
