Peeps trying to get you to hire them are already invading emails. Or maybe I'm late about the news, but still useful for newbies being approached by these people.

Here's one of them...

To the sender, I DON'T ENTERTAIN UNSOLICITED STUFF LIKE THIS; IT'S F*CKING ANNOYING. For one, I'm also an artist; one that uses his actual hands, head and techniques to produce his own illustration, not AI prompts. I make my own stuff for the same reason as my second. Two, I don't have money to pay you. And three, stop the bullshit. I know you didn't read the work past a few early chapters.

And let's say you're 'legit;' still, this kind of 'advertisement' is annoying. So bug off.

To newbies being approached like this, DON'T ENTERTAIN THEM.

Look, I'm waiting for several important emails for another shit I got myself into (that yandere bullshit again). Then you would be notified by your phone about new mails, only to learn that it's about someone advertising their services even though you didn't ask for it.

"Hans, you have no idea how hard it is to land a commission."

I know because I'm also taking in commissions, though as a side job. If you are using commissions to mainly make a living, then you need to evaluate your life choices because even before with the rise of AI, landing art commissions is already hard.

Yes. And I'm the one who approached them, instead of them approaching me.

100% a scam, they will have some really BS terms like you pay 50% now and then 50% once the "SKETCH" is done. Not when the whole piece is done. Then they will give some hot garbage sketch and ask you to pay the remaining. DO NOT FALL FOR THEM!

Don't care about his sincerity; one REAL look at my works and he'd know I don't need such services because it's already filled with illustrations: Cover, Back Cover, Character Introductions and In-Chapter Illustrations.

I'm really annoyed by this type of marketing. From Wattpad inboxes (when it still existed) and comments, to ScribbleHub inbox and comments, and now, even in my own emails. Had enough replying to them politely, tried to ignore, now I'm lashing out coz I'm waiting for important emails, only to be notified by this.

There are proper, NON-INVASIVE, ways to promote yourself. This guy (and others) needs to learn that.

Not to mention, these emails add to the memory limits of my account. Had to delete them so it won't add up.

I dunno, nor do I care about it anymore (seriously, not trying to be sarcastic). I stopped updating my works here (I just kept the auto-updates in one novel) and is only around because I got a few friends in forum.

So I don't know if my works is still searchable in the main site. If it does, then I certainly don't have anything to do about it because I'm not even dropping by the main site recently.

I'm not gonna try to influence you, but this place changed a lot since I came here mid-2020. At first, I thought this place is a breath of fresh air from Royal Road. Turns out, peeps driven from there also came here, and brought their infamous "culture." Not to mention, a few d*cks outside RR also came and made the site worse.

Didn't help that the admin seemed to have forgotten this forum and site existed. Combine these with the fact that many of the cool, colorful peeps also "left" or became "inactive," and now this place is far different from what I remember. Lol

I must say, mid-2023 was the peak of SHF. Peeps hanging around and while there were a few assholes, many were getting along just fine.

Hmm. I only got here in late June. This was actually recommended to me via another friend. I do agree that the lack of communication between the administration and its loyal users is hard to overlook. We expect problems to be handled in a few days - not months. Also, I've found quite a lot of figures and statistics that aren't adding up at all. I'd say I get along with the bulk of everyone here; I haven't had to block anyone yet, so that's a good sign.
