A Crumbling Orphanage
  • Sponsor: Roen Orphanage
  • Location: Balan Island (Sky Archipelago)
  • Prerequisites: N/A

  • Help out at the Roen Orphanage.
  • Keep the kids out of trouble.
  • Feed the children somehow.
The local orphanage in Roen is over two hundred years old.As you might imagine, the wood is rotten and it's literally crumbling apart. Help us... please? Babysitting is also part of the job description. We have literally no money so please figure out how to feed the kids too.

Just take the children to a sunflower field and let them eat the seeds! ^^)/

And bring some to Ilya too since you're at it!

After spending way too much time doing useless research, I've settled on an estimate (using both Okho's provided reference and a supplementary, more encompassing price reference for DnD I found) for the price of the house I'm thinking of.

Not including labor, only accounting the price of the materials, in and about 1500 gold pieces...

And that was the moment I realized "Huh... building a house out of Roman bricks is expensive..."

I've since decided to look into wood prices. :sweating_profusely:

You'd have to work a lifetime for that many gold pieces. :blob_shock:

Hmm so if by the DnD reference, a loaf of bread is 2 cp, than means 1500 GP = 150,000 CP = 75,000 loaves of bread.

Given that a typical loaf of white bread in the US costs about $2, this means about $150,000 USD for a house.

1 GP = about $100

And I have to sincerely remind you that everyone is also busying repairing their house, and city their infrastructure after the isekai. Adding that to the small stock pile of material on hand, the lost of trade network and shortage of laborer to gather said materials, everything will at the very least 5 time the price, and the waiting list will be just as long......
Have fun!

Oh my, Fiora is getting her own garden and library~

Meanwhile Ascalio gets one room that is also a workshop... Mmmmmmm... I guess that's a fair enough distribution~
Why does everyone wants to destroy my mansions?! :blob_catflip:
Destruction is fun~ *whistles*

Yeah, maybe bricks wasn't a good idea~

Seems reasonable-ish.

And, well, that would be just materials, not even accounting for well... the workers that would actually make the house.

I reject your reality and substitute my own!

That's actually something I might use as plot hook, actually.

Right, I just uploaded my last chapter, which contain a little bit of legend about a cursed island that was disconnected from SA for hundred of years, disappeared from most people memories (not literally) and lost to history. I'll set this as a set up for the Fallen Island Arc, which may started right after the Expedition Arc..... Check it out, and feel free to ask your own speculation, back stories and lead up to it!
I presented the info in my novels as legends, so you guy could also go ahead can create your own version of it in your novels, and may it cannon in yours instead!

*Furiously writing down idea for a meeting which may or maynot involve a ship-shaped projectile......*
*Furiously writing how Raul and co escape the grasps of Death while using spatial magic...*
