After Posting Chapter 1, I'm posting in Forums to keep "Accountability"

I always started up writing projects, never really posted them online. I always aimed to make a full first arc before posting, but I never really get there. So, I decided to post a "Chapter 1" of this story, out in the open, so I cannot back out.

If you ask me where does the first arc, or when does the reader begin to know the premise of the story. I'll assume maybe chapter 5? But I did end Chapter 1 on a cliffhanger, or a hook to keep reading.

Each time I post a chapter, I'll post here, in hopes people will see this, and prevent me from dropping this idea and stealthily deleting it.

I just gotta rip the band-aid off.



Anyone here went through the same struggle? New author here. I've technically been writing for over 3 years, but I've never completed a draft and whatnot. Maybe I did for 1 story, but that's smut-- and that's not really a serious writing effort lol.

I did have a cover, which I drew-- it's this. But I'll practice a bit more, then I'll make a new cover.

Ehh, it's fine. I don't got a hate boner for AI or anything. I just want to do it myself because I want to.

I truly envy people who can effectively write romance and smut. I guess its just the lack of experience with that in my own life that makes me a bit stunted in that genre.

Haha, you are insane to think romance and smut stories are realistic.

It's 100% insane, unrealistic, sometimes comical stories. The idea is that you can enjoy fantasies and settings that make no sense whatsoever and are literally the opposite of realistic and thus impossible to experience in RL.

Just give it a try and go crazy! You might be more successful than you think.

Just give it a try and go crazy! You might be more successful than you think.

I'm gonna support this that most writers go for escapism here, but there are a handful... maybe a handful that go for genuine realism in relationships. Not saying they aren't organic, but a lot of times those relationships are not straightforward, if a bit bumpy, as portrayed. Still, it can be done, but the question is whether it should be written.

Congrats on this new and exciting step on your writing journey.

I had trouble finishing longer stories, until I completed my first book, that was around 60K.
Now for me, writing a book from start to finish is a lot easier, but revising it still come difficult.

As my beta reader who helped me with my current story said, it takes about 50K words to find your "style" as a writer, and more words to get good.
