I just wanted to start a forum thread for anyone that wants to list or post advices for newcomers.

However, I recommend everyone to take the advices with a grain of salt. Judge yourself if the advice fit you and your style of writing. Some advice works really well for certain people while not so much for others!

My advice for new writers:
If you are lucky enough to get an editor/proofreader don't blindly accept their changes. Think about it, try to figure out why they made those suggestions and see if it fits the style of writing you are going for. Do listen to their thoughts and opinions but always try to polish your style of writing.

Couldn't we just keep this in one place? As in Discussions & Writing Tips. That is the purpose of the section after all. Yeah, Ai-chan is fussy about proper organization.

Advice for beginners:
Is to simply begin. Whatever you write fiction/non-fiction, it will only become as such when you start writing. Waiting for inspiration is waiting for no reason. The key is discipline.

Even if it came out trash, it is still a piece of trash that exists and looked disgusting. But do not fret, sometime and somewhere in the world, someone will risk their life reading it.

An advice for myself too. lol

Lock yourself up in the room, shut down your internet, turned off your phone, lockdown your house. And Write. Set a goal that no matter what, you must write at [Number] words in 1 day. Listen to relaxing music and close everything else. Open only your writing platform and write.

The key is forcing yourself to write. There is nothing that kept you from writing, only you yourself refused to write.

Join the discord server because there are some really talented/experienced authors and mentors on the server that can help you out. However, only join if you have restraints because discord is a black hole.

Oof thanks? Also, I am new to Scribble Hub but have been writing for a while I think don't know how long in wattpad. So I decided to post some of the stories I had done in there here I hope? but How does that works? is that even possible?

Check out the Mentor Board and contact the Mentors listed. If you are lucky you can get a Mentor to give you some more in-depth advice.

Rather than sulking and being dispirited, try harder and improve yourself.

P.S.- this is mostly for my own self...
