"What, this irritating night light I can never turn off? That's a halo. I'm not technically supposed to be an angel, but I guess I am now. Again, it was entirely not my fault."

Aquamarine dumped the pitcher's contents all over herself. The water simply passed through the halo as if it wasn't there; then the little Caster shrugged and started absorbing the spilled water off the floor.

"Thing's immaterial. I can get it to dim, but that's when I'm starving. And at that point there's really no point to it. But hey, a Sarkaz, are you? I don't particularly mind."

Opening the door to the tavern, he heard the guild master announce that someone named Cassel was going to temporarily take over as guild master. For whoever that was unlucky enough to share his name. Cassel sent a silent prayer for them.

It wasn't going to be fun for whoever was appointed this during the slime tide. Guards and adventurers alike would be rushing to see that guy. And, depending on their experience they could get overwhelmed from the task.

Grabbing a seat, some food, and a drink he stayed to watch the show. He wanted to see just who was the poor guy.

Opening the door to the tavern, he heard the guild master announce that someone named Cassel was going to temporarily take over as guild master. For whoever that was unlucky enough to share his name. Cassel sent a silent prayer for them.

It wasn't going to be fun for whoever was appointed this during the slime tide. Guards and adventurers alike would be rushing to see that guy. And, depending on their experience they could get overwhelmed from the task.

"Welcome back to the guild, temporary guild master. Miss Heljikka asked me to send this pile of paper work to you." *puts a pile of paper half her size in the table in front of him*

"There is a lot more in the backroom, but she said those were the priority and needed to be handled before dawn... I'll pray for your success."

Staring at the paper work in front of him, he causally pushed the papers back to the girl and said, "You've got me mistaken for the wrong person Miss. I'm pretty sure the wise Mr Gem wouldn't trust a person like me to take in the affairs of the guild. Not when he has reliable members like you to handle such matters. I'm just a humble unranked adventurer and not the person he talked about."

Staring at the paper work in front of him, he causally pushed the papers back to the girl and said, "You've got me mistaken for the wrong person Miss. I'm pretty sure the wise Mr Gem wouldn't trust a person like me to take in the affairs of the guild. Not when he has reliable members like you to handle such matters. I ask you to take over the responsibility you were entrusted with, I am sure that The Goddess will watch over your path and guide towards the right decisions."

He came up with "While I am close with the guards I am in no way close with the adventurers in the city. The closest I have come to them is filing their reports and stealing their information and funneling it to the guards. It's much better to contact a captain for military strategy than a nobody like me. Anyways you guys have plenty of Rank E adventurers on your side that more trust worthy than me. I'm a thief through and through afterall. Who knows I could be plotting some evil scheme behind your backs and am abusing Mr Gems trust in it to make it pass through unnoticed. There's plenty of rank E's other than me someone with the knowledge, experience, and trust that should lead. Not a thief."

A little proud at his rant. He was pretty sure there was no way the girl could pass the responsibility to him especially with the rank E's lying around the city. Surely one or two would pop out to try to prove themselves while he could escape smoothly in the background.

"I cannot offer you much, but I'm sure you have The Goddess' blessing with you, may she always guide your path."

For formality sake of course."

Looking at the paper work, he sighed "Well thanks for the heads up, Miss....huh it seems I haven't gotten your name yet. Can I grab your name so I can know what to call you next time? If I ever get the power to make adventurers do paperwork you'll be the first I throw my work to! I shall make you regret making me guildmaster. With the power of paperwork!!! "Nene, it's my pleasure, guildmaster. May The Goddess give you the strength to persevere when faced with adversity."

"Well thank you for your help Miss Nene sincerely I look forward to your help in the future." Looking down at his paper work he prayed to whatever gods that were listening to give him the power to transfer his position or at least lessen the paper work.
