"Please be careful to not hit anyone's head with your feet. The patrons here aren't well-known for paying attention to their surroundings...*Ego floats into the tavern*
*pikooooon~*
*Drifts around aimlessly*
*hides*"... Miss (?) Okarin? What might you be doing?"
*hides*
"I'm too weak to do anything by myself. I need to be a stronger adventurer if I want to do anything, right?"
"I want to help the halfings. They were nice to me. The Leprechaun was nice."*confused noises*"... I hope I didn't scare her (?) again... It's surprisingly hard to learn how to behave around slimes..."
*giggles* "You don't need to eat meat to be strong."I want to help the halfings. They were nice to me. The Leprechaun was nice."
"But I also don't know what I can do. I'm just a slime."
"What can one slime do?"
"I don't even eat meat. Strong adventurers eat meat, right?"
"Okay~ Will be careful~""Please be careful to not hit anyone's head with your feet. The patrons here aren't well-known for paying attention to their surroundings...
"Also be careful with the pillars and the walls, this tavern has seen better days and might crack if you crash onto them.
"... And welcome, I suppose? It's the first time I see you here."
"Maybe we could attempt to contact the rebels or the Holy*slams two more quest reports on the table*
What should the guild do about these two?
We still have @Epsil off to Fuyu Machi, so we’re waiting to hear back from the Beastman mountain.
Meanwhile we have more information about the Lizardmen in the south. @GDLiZy seems to think it isn’t worth meddling in their affairs?
What about the rebels to the west?
Should the guild expand to any of these areas?
"Now, another new and mysterious face, huh?" Luna saw the thing that took shape of a little girl, floating aimlessly in the Tavern. Although she could see her 'appearance', there was some kind of strange fog that concealed parts of the thing, not letting anyone had a full view of her appearance.*Ego floats into the tavern*
*pikooooon~*
*Drifts around aimlessly*
"Mhm, good question~ What am I? Uhnnn...that's a secret! And I love keeping secrets~""Maybe we could attempt to contact the rebels or the HolyRomanHuman Empire. If their conquest was real, then their knowledge and reach must be far and wide. We might gain some unexpected news from the outside world if we were successful in befriending them."
"Now, another new and mysterious face, huh?" Luna saw the thing that took shape of a little girl, floating aimlessly in the Tavern. Although she could see her 'appearance', there was some kind of strange fog that concealed parts of the thing, not letting anyone had a full view of her appearance.
"So, what are you?" Nevertheless, this got Luna curious, and she began to speak to the floating thing. After meeting the with tentacle monster that took the shape of a girl, nothing really shocked her anymore.
“I’m not brainless... Miss Nene...”*giggles* "You don't need to eat meat to be strong.
"If you want to help them... Help them. The Goddess will certainly light your path while you do so.
"You should not worry about what one slime can do, but rather worry about what you can do. What you are do not define who you are, miss (?) Okarin. Your actions do. If you believe you should help the halflings, you can rest assured that I will pray for your success.
"... Just be careful to not endanger yourself too much, it's always better to know your own limits."
"I never said you were. Anyone that thinks of someone else as brainless is not heading the teachings of The Goddess.“I’m not brainless... Miss Nene...”
“There’s very little I can do. I’m not strong. I can’t fight an army full of knights. I don’t think... there is much hope for the Halfings... if nothing is done.”
"Keeping a secret, huh? Well, it's not like I can't slowly find it out myself." Luna smiled and paid some special attention to the thing."Mhm, good question~ What am I? Uhnnn...that's a secret! And I love keeping secrets~"
Ego abandoned her earlier position and drifted closer to Luna, coming right up to her face. Someone didn't seem to have a notion of personal distance.
"What about you? What do I appear to be from your eyes?"
"In my homeworld, there were many great beings that could handwave disasters and apocalypses in and out of existence." Luna, having a wicked idea, moved closer to Okarin and whispered into her ears without letting Nene know.“I’m not brainless... Miss Nene...”
“There’s very little I can do. I’m not strong. I can’t fight an army full of knights. I don’t think... there is much hope for the Halfings... if nothing is done.”
"Faith..." Okarin murmured quietly."I never said you were. Anyone that thinks of someone else as brainless is not heading the teachings of The Goddess.
"And why do you think you have to fight an army of knights in order to help them? I am unable to fight a wolf, yet I have lost count of how many people I have helped.
"What can you do to help them? Maybe help them gather herbs to heal their wounded? Help them gather food to feed their warriors? Pray for their safety so that their gods may guide their steps? Find friends that are willing to help them in their fight?
"I'm sure there is plenty you're able to do, miss (?) Okarin. But for that, you need to first be willing to do something for them. If you believe that nothing you do will help them, and end up doing nothing... Then I can assure you, nothing will help them indeed.
"It's up to you, have some faith. The Goddess is certainly looking over someone with such a pure heart such as yourself."
So, if you wanted to fight gods and dragged them down from the throne of heaven, then you must persevere on. Until the very end.
"Oooh, that's a new one~ I'll have to note it down~""Keeping a secret, huh? Well, it's not like I can't slowly find it out myself." Luna smiled and paid some special attention to the thing.
"From my eyes? Well, just a shy thing that only revealed a part of yourself to the world. Still, a tiny little girl, yet also something much more..." Speaking in a riddle, Luna giggled as she watched the reaction of the thing.
"In my homeworld, there were many great beings that could handwave disasters and apocalypses in and out of existence." Luna, having a wicked idea, moved closer to Okarin and whispered into her ears without letting Nene know.
"Their grand prestige came from their unending grind of knowledge and works. Most of them had no talents, and also no hope. However, they persisted, and in the end, succeeded in crafting their own, grandiose legend. So, if you wanted to fight gods and dragged them down from the throne of heaven, then you must persevere on. Until the very end." Luna whispered softly, thinking about her grand ambition, that would, in the future, surely crashed with some of her friends' ideology. Immortality and divinity— The distant dream, the peak of sorcery—
While Luna would still find Ego staring at her if she looked, Okarin would find that if she had looked, Ego would be turning her head back to stare at her."Faith..." Okarin murmured quietly.
"What is the difference between blind faith and idiocy? Surely, you also believe that the Rebels are a lost cause, do you not, Miss Nene? If you believed there was still hope for them, wouldn't you also want the Guild to do what they can?"
"I'm not blind... what does it matter if I bring them herbs? If I pray for them? Prayers won't stop the empire from crushing the last of them..."
"Miss Nene... I do not see a path forward. If I go by myself, it is meaningless. I can bring them water and put a bandage on someone's wound, but they will get cut down by a knights blade regardless. The rebels are cornered like rats in the very end. They will all die! What is the point? You say not to endanger myself, but isn't it full of danger if I go? Alone?"
Okarin was visibly upset.
*begins to think that the tavern is full of scary people* "Eep!"With a small grin.
*sips tea* Now that's an interesting idea~"Maybe we could attempt to contact the rebels or the HolyRomanHuman Empire. If their conquest was real, then their knowledge and reach must be far and wide. We might gain some unexpected news from the outside world if we were successful in befriending them."
That would probably be a bad idea considering how many adventures aren't human.*sips tea* Now that's an interesting idea~
We should ally ourselves with the Holy Human Empire, ne~?![]()
"Very, very, interesting." Seeing the strange movement, Luna attempted to use her sorcery to peek inside the mist. However, she could only see an additional part of the thing, which was looking at Okarin."Oooh, that's a new one~ I'll have to note it down~"
Eyes sparkling the girl produced book and quill from seemingly nowhere, connecting the tip to the page and starting to scribble. There didn't seem to be any ink available, though, and every now and then Ego would pause her scribbling to peek at Luna from over the top of her book.
"Well, don't be afraid. You need to have a strong mind to accomplish great things. If you can't eradicate the god who the Holy Human Empire worshipped, then all would be for nought, isn't it? After all, mortals, are merely the means to help gods. However, if they decided to get serious, then they could descend and get the job done in a matter of days, if not hours." Remembering the power of the Lord, Luna trembled, not in fear, but excitement. That's the peak of sorcery, and that's her goal. She would do anything to get there.*okarin is slightly horrified to hear this.......*
*hides further*
"Who knows? Maybe they aren't that bad against the non-humans. After all, there is no eternal enemy, only eternal benefits."That would probably be a bad idea considering how many adventures aren't human.
*Secretly wants to scare Okarin**begins to think that the tavern is full of scary people* "Eep!"
