860 exp would have had you at level 3 with 340 to get to level 4.
Then you would need another 800 exp to get to level 5.
If we discount the exp you already had at level 3 and make it the whole amount needed instead.
600 to 1200 to get to level 4, then 1200 to 2000 to get to level 5.
So, your total exp should now be 2260 exp.

if i add the equivalent of exp from the raid reward would it be safe it say I have 2860 exp on Vesper? (original point is 860)

I myself use it like this: 860 -600 = 260.
two level above that is 2000. Then, I add the excess exp for that to my level to 2260.

Remembering @ohko's word about the person who has 70ish level to level 5 though, he said that it is up to us if we want to level to 6/7 (in term of exp).

4200-3030 = 1170

7200 - 1170 = 6030.

My EXP (3030EXP) is equivalent to level 6 (3000 EXP). Then I have to be level 8(5600 EXP) for bonus since I am unranked? Now then, it is just the matter of adding the excess exp to the next level. I either measure it from how far it is from where I am, or how far it is from the next level (level 9(7200 EXP)). If I measure it from level 8, I can add 2600 EXP, just like that. If I measure it from level 9, I can add 3000 EXP.
