Utopia, we should write something on medieval clothes like what ohko wrote for metallurgy.
I mean, I would be interested, if it helps me get in the mood to write anything right now~

Though I'm not exactly knowledgeable in medieval clothing. Not that I'm particularly knowledgeable about anything in particular~

One can always read up some books to fix that though~
*covers you in ink and sees you roll out the words: 'Willing to write for huggles'*
'o'

*huggles you lots and lots*

The NPC shops in this round passed with 11 likes, so I updated the market page with these.

I also updated the tavern thread with the tavern stuff.

In the future, I'd like to add a better explanation in the Market thread OP about how money is flexible.

I added a line to the Registration page that characters can arrive with anything that they're wearing (e.g. a full suit of plate armor), but it must be poor / damaged / broken quality.

So you're saying that my maid clothes need to be damaged?! How lewd!

Neither am I, but it seems fun if I dont end up going meh and forget about it.

Check Karolina Zebrowska's videos on YouTube, she does a lot of vids on historical women's clothing and sometimes does tutorials on how to make them.

Ooh, that channel seem so out of what I would usually watch. I would check it out if I actually folloow through with this idea.

Quick question, what is the rough population size of Scribel City right now?

Dunno :blob_happy:

It’s a city, but the Introduction on the Registration Page states that the Gate was opened only a few years ago.
I see.
'-'
Then, how was the city built so quickly and has a prison/dungeon that's been around since before the city was built? Especially when everywhere is understaffed?
How about the GM who has been around for hundreds of years, at least?
How about the establishment of the currency system the city is using? Where did the labour to mine the metal ore to smelt and forge the coins come from? Or was all of that from the other worlds?

orz
I feel like I'm analysing too much...sorry for the questions...you don't need to answer them.

I mean, food would be the most important limiting factor for the population, but we don't have much information on that, so there's that.

You can always go out in the fields and estimate their rough extension for an educated guess (assuming grain is the main food source).

Out of the top of my head, I remember that wheat produces around 9 bushels of grain per acre, with the average a person would eat per year being 24 bushels (that was how much grain was needed to produce the flour that made the bread they consumed throughout the year). Granted, IIRC, those numbers only apply to English agriculture (which was one of the most well documented of the era).

So by measuring the fields around the area, you can get a rough estimation of how many people can be supported here.

Small caveat is that you can reduce the amount of grain in the calculation based on other sources of nutrition, but that's mostly up to estimations. I'd say at least 60% (or around 14 bushels) should be the minimum.

:blob_shock: They’re the same person as @Yorth?
I only make some maps here and there... it's one of my interests together with linguistics.

Well, you can always try to update the map then~ *whistles*
I like Yorth's artistic style maps, though!

I work mostly with elevation/topographic maps.

*nod nod nod* They're really cool! \(^^)/

... And must be hard to make... *shivers*
Really depends on the amount of effort you want to put into it, I guess~?

You can just wing it and make one in roughly 3~4 hours. Or you could end up wasting a whole month in a map you'll never use~
Thankfully you haven't noticed I uploaded the map with the wrong scale because I couldn't find the right one.

When I move up and down, the first map's rivers pulsate like veins.

Is that just my laptop doing that, or does it happen on other people's screens too?
