@Feathers95 if possible in like 2 to 3 hours? Need to work on my own writing as I have been leaving that to the side for too long now.
Yeah that's fine, just let me know when you feel up for it! It's not like we have to do it today or tomorrow or anything ^^ :blob_cookie:

Wait, you guys are actually doing this? Why?
Makes it easier so that people don’t have to trade with decimal money... for things like food in the market.

Just... use silver or something. I don't see why you'd need to do such a major overhaul.

Oh well, it's already done. It just feels unnecessary in my opinion.

 To be honest, part of it was my OCD about the currency name. The copper/bronze/silver/gold valuation just felt off... in the sense that 1 gold being worth only a day’s living expenses is just too low... because what do you call the higher value denominations? Platinum? Are people actually walking around with ore coins?

Rather than confirming that “G” stands for “gold” by creating a lower denomination like “silver”...I kind of just avoided the topic.:sweating_profusely: At least, that was my thought process. Maybe “G” just stands for “Guild Note”...

:blob_upset: Yeah, it was poorly thought out in the beginning.

I think I would have been fine renaming “G” to silver and adding a bronze currency below and a gold currency above... but that also felt complicated to me.

So it didn’t seem great to me either way.

Report for Quest: Healing Herbs
Sponsor
: Scribel City Adventurer's Guild

Name: Randell Stephenson
Method of completion: I went out, I did some wandering, found some herbs, grabbed some herbs, checked to make sure I had the right herbs, filled up my bag, filled up another, then filled up one for myself. Then I came back.
Is that not an adequate explanation for you? It is a simple quest. I do not understand why it would be necessary for an extensive report.
Quest Items Given: 2 bags of herbs
Please quote the quest when completing it, makes the job a lot easier for whoever appraises it as we can see the rewards and the quest description in one go.

Silver was just an example, you might as well have G and C, with 10C = 1G

@GM Remember to multiply all the shop prices in the market by 10 as well! Also, update some of the GM posts at the top of some of the threads with the correct pricing too, when you have time, of course. ^^

Edit: Oh, and also all the quest rewards! :sweating_profusely:

I'm not sure what's the big fuss of having decimal value
United States currency, we have dollars and cents, so most items you buy are like 0.99 or 2.25 or something.
And way way back, like in the 1800's you could buy plenty of stuff with just 0.05 dollars. In fact the average weekly wage was just 16 dollars.

Although it looks like people already agreed to multiply by 10? Also why, 10? Why not 100?

@GM How do we handle rewards for party quests?
Split reward in half?
Full rewards for both?
Full exp for both, but money in half?

For me, the thought process was putting the currency in a range that most English-speaking countries are familiar with?

Like a similar strategy is taken with the Pokémon or JRPG games, I think. A potion costing 100G or 300G is very similar to the yen valuation.

Also, what happened to 1G = 100 cents? I swear we already had a system in place for this problem, but at the same time the decision has already been made so I don't really care lol

What do people think?

My thought if like two people team up to get 5 slimes each, to me that is sort of a half award. Whereas if each party got 10 slimes (20 total), that’s sort of like a full award for both?
