Roll limits: -9999999999 to 9999999999

@Corty, an error has occured. To use the dice roller, please use the command "!roll min, max" without the quotes. Min being The lowest value to return and max being the highest value to return.

You may also use "!roll min,max,num_of_dice" if you want to roll multiple dice at once. The maximum dice you may use is 100.

First Question: Shall We Play a Game of Gwent?

Nuon, thinking a friendly game might loosen Old Man Fiddlesticks' tongue further, asks, "Shall we play a game of Gwent?"

Charisma Check Calculation:

  • Nuon's Charisma Modifier: +3
  • Roll: 6
Total: 6 + 3 = 9

Old Man Fiddlesticks's Wisdom Saving Throw Calculation:

  • Wisdom Modifier: +1
  • Roll: 12
Total: 12 + 1 = 13

Nuon’s charisma check result (9) is less than Old Man Fiddlesticks’s wisdom saving throw result (13), so she fails to convince him.

Old Man Fiddlesticks: "Gwent? Oh, lass, I haven’t played Gwent since the time I was working for those traveling merchants. They used to make me write catchy jingles for their products, you know. ‘Buy the best pots in the land from Gus’s Rusty Pans!’ Hah! Those were the days! Anyway, my dear, I’m afraid my card-playing days are behind me. My hands aren’t as steady as they used to be, and a fella named Gerard. No... Gilbert. No... Was it... Ah, yes, Gertold! No... Geralt! Yes, a fella named Geralt came in and played twelve rounds in a row with me even if I didn't want to anymore! Then he left, taking all my cards... In a way, he saved me."

He chuckles and takes another swig of ale, clearly lost in his memories.

Second Question: Where Can One Find an Enchanted Instrument, or Could Just Any Decent Bard Play Fine Enough to Use It?

Nuon, steering the conversation back to her quest, asks, "Where can one find an enchanted instrument, or could just any decent bard play fine enough to use it?"

Charisma Check Calculation:

  • Nuon's Charisma Modifier: +3
  • Roll: 8
Total: 8 + 3 = 11

Old Man Fiddlesticks's Wisdom Saving Throw Calculation:

  • Wisdom Modifier: +1 (with +1 for each question, total +2)
  • Roll: 12
Total: 12 + 2 = 14

Nuon’s charisma check result (11) is less than Old Man Fiddlesticks’s wisdom saving throw result (14), so she fails to fully engage him.

Old Man Fiddlesticks: "Enchanted instruments, eh? Well, let me tell you a story about the time I tried to sell enchanted spoons to a group of orcs. They thought they were magic because they could stir soup really well. It turns out they just like soup a lot, and it works better than a fork or stick! Hah! But as for instruments, well, you know, it's all about the heart or something like that. I once knew a bard who played a lute that could charm the pants off a dragon, literally! They say you need a special touch, a kind of magic in your hand, to finish a dragon off. Or was it in your feet? Many like feet... Can't quite remember."

He takes another hearty swig of ale, clearly enjoying his own rambling.

Third Question: Request to Look at the Tablet/Inscriptions

Nuon, hoping to gather more tangible information, asks, "Could I look at the tablet or the inscriptions myself? Or at least know the location if it's not tiny?"

Charisma Check Calculation:

  • Nuon's Charisma Modifier: +3
  • Roll: 7
Total: 7 + 3 = 10

Old Man Fiddlesticks's Wisdom Saving Throw Calculation:

  • Wisdom Modifier: +1 (with +2 for each previous question, total +3)
  • Roll: 11
Total: 11 + 3 = 14

Nuon’s charisma check result (10) is less than Old Man Fiddlesticks’s wisdom saving throw result (14), so she fails to get a straightforward answer.

Old Man Fiddlesticks: "Ah, the tablet! Yes, yes, I remember it well. It was quite a find, you know. But let me tell you about the time I tried to sell a map to a group of pixies. They were convinced it was a treasure map, but it was actually just directions to the nearest yard sale. Those pixies sure loved their adventure, though, flying away with all that junk! I call that a win-win! Anyway, the tablet... Oh, it's out there somewhere in the Forgotten Fen. Big place, that. Hard to miss if you're looking for ancient stone tablets. Just keep your eyes peeled and your heart open, and you'll find it! I think. I did!"

He chuckles to himself, clearly more amused by his own stories than providing clear directions.

Fourth Question: Have You Tried Looking for It Yourself?

Nuon, hoping to probe deeper, begins to ask, "Have you tried looking for it yourself—" but suddenly, she bites her tongue. The pain shoots through her mouth, and she winces visibly. Embarrassed and struggling to regain composure, she reaches for a nearby tankard of ale to soothe the pain. Unfortunately, Nuon has a low tolerance for alcohol, and after a few gulps, she finds herself completely drunk.

Nuon: "Havvv yoooo evvv— hic— tryed lookin' furr it yersel'?" she slurs, swaying slightly as she speaks.

Old Man Fiddlesticks raises an eyebrow and lets out a hearty laugh.

Old Man Fiddlesticks: "Oh, dear! It seems the ale has gotten the better of you, lass! But since you asked, I'll tell you. I did try looking for it once. Got lost for three days and ended up in a goblin poetry slam. Those little buggers have a way with rhymes, let me tell you. Never did find the tablet again, though. Always thought it would turn up when it was meant to."

He laughs again, clearly enjoying the memory.

Nuon, now thoroughly inebriated, can barely focus on his words.

Fifth Question: Will You Show Me Where You Found the Tablet?

Nuon, despite her drunken state, manages to muster an impressive display of earnestness and charm. She gazes at Old Man Fiddlesticks with wide, pleading eyes and asks, "Will you show me where you found the tablet?"

Charisma Check Calculation:

  • Nuon's Charisma Modifier: +3
  • Roll: 20 (Critical Success)
Total: 20 + 3 = 23

Old Man Fiddlesticks's Wisdom Saving Throw Calculation:

  • Wisdom Modifier: +1 (with +4 for each previous question, total +5)
  • Roll: 9
Total: 9 + 5 = 14

Nuon’s charisma check result (23) is significantly greater than Old Man Fiddlesticks’s wisdom saving throw result (14), ensuring her critical success.

Old Man Fiddlesticks: "Oh, bless your heart, lass! You’ve got a spirit that’s hard to resist, even when you're three sheets to the wind. I can’t let you wander off in this state. I’ll take you to the place myself. It’s been a while since I had an adventure, anyway."

With a fond smile, he downs the rest of his ale and stands up, offering Nuon a steadying arm. The patrons in the tavern watch curiously as the old man and the drunk bard make their way out into the night.

Fiddlesticks Joins the Party

Old Man Fiddlesticks: "Come along, lass. Let’s find that tablet and see if we can’t get you on your way to that Quill of Destiny."

As they walk, Old Man Fiddlesticks keeps a close eye on Nuon, making sure she doesn’t stumble or wander off. His demeanor is protective yet amused, clearly enjoying the sudden twist in his evening.

New Choices for the Party

As Nuon and Old Man Fiddlesticks leave the Tavern of Tales and head towards the Forgotten Fen, they face several options on how to proceed with their quest. Despite the excitement, Nuon’s drunken state and Fiddlesticks’ age require some consideration for their next steps.

Choices

  1. Rest and Sober Up: Recognizing the importance of being clear-headed for their journey, Nuon and Fiddlesticks decide to find a safe spot to rest and sober up before continuing their quest. This will give them both a chance to recover and strategize. (y)
  2. Head Directly to the Forgotten Fen: Driven by urgency, they choose to go straight to the Forgotten Fen without delay. Fiddlesticks tries to remember the exact location of the tablet, hoping that they can make progress even in their current state. (Wisdom check for Fiddlestick - 10)
  3. Visit the Local Herbalist: They decide to visit a local herbalist in Inkarnum to get a potion or remedy to counteract the effects of alcohol. This would allow them to sober up quickly and continue their journey without resting. :ROFLMAO: (Charisma check for Nuon - 16+3)
  4. Gather Supplies and Information: They take some time to gather additional supplies and ask around for more information about the Forgotten Fen and the Echoing Caves. This includes visiting local shops and speaking to other adventurers who might have valuable insights.
