Not only is it frustrating but also painful to edit a chapter for thirty minutes or more then make a big mistake (eg. Pasting the same chapter in the edited one or mistakenly clearing a paragraph) and having no way to undo it.

I have made this same mistake twice and I had to edit and edit for an hour to clear the whole thing or start again, when it could be solved with a single tap on "undo"

I'm surprised an established website doesn't have such an important lifesaver when random freenotes out there do.

There is already a function like that, called

Anything saved in the chapter will be reflected there.

You can unedit it by pressing "restore revision", but that requires you saving it beforehand. True "autosave" is costly, so this is the solution Tony made.

Also, for smaller mistakes, the browser typically implements UNDO for you.
Just press Ctrl+Z.

Write in Google Drive, copy and paste into the editor.

Come on, guys, it's not rocket science.
That's what I do, except with MSword. I try to avoid editing online even if tempted by a loose typo.

I haven't posted in a long time, but I remember the hidden footnote function being a real pain in the ass. You had to manually click it in the editor as pasting it in wouldn't work.

Just select the text you want to put into a footnote and press the button.

Aka, write it regularly, maybe put the footnote text into brackets to find it easily and after pasting it, editing is easy peasy.

the process is easy, but the editor jumps to the top of the text whenever I paste in images, which I often do for footnotes especially if I want to show food pic
