About chapter releases...

Well, here's the thing.

As I've said before, I've written around five volumes worth of story for my novel, The Human Saint is Bored, so I was Summoned to Another World. That's about 96 chapters, and because I only discovered SH recently, it's been updated only up to the 2nd volume whereas in WebNovel, it's already about to end. (I released chapter 96 there and I'm in the process of writing the extra chapters left.)

Question is, should I release by batch, to keep up with WebNovel? Or continue with the by-week releases? The advantage of posting here in SH is that the readers are more active, and the format can be inserted with an image.

What do you think?

Accelerated releases until you're caught up to WN, but not in batches. Just posting one a day at different times in the day will get you the most visibility. Or two a day if you want to hurry it up. Like one in the morning, one in the evening. You pretty much never want to batch release, though.

I was in a similar situation and did a release every three hours until I caught up.

Always release by week. Why harm your viewership with batch releases?

Thanks for the replies! Honestly, I'm tempted to do a batch release, since I wanted the readers to get to the 'good parts' of the story. But then, reading your answers proved it is counterproductive.

Nah. WN text editor is not good, compared to SH's. The reader experience is much better with illustrations and the text-formatting.

(And the helpdesk is so-so too.)

People (as in me) have a tendency to be totally fine with long stories but NOT fine with 50 chapters added in a week. After all there are SO MANY stories of roughly the same quality and genre on these sites. Why not read stories you can actually keep up with?

Plus batch releases tend to have massive hiatuses. Whereas stories that simply release a chapter a day/week are more consistent.
