I mean, if anything, it was only the first floor’s entire atlas section featuring the beginning era of philosophical growth. No more than four or five bookshelves were damaged, I’m sure. LMAOI'll post later. Lunchtime not nearly enough time to flesh out the rest of the day. I'll think about how terrible Yurei's reaction will be when she sees the library.![]()

Okay.Lisette pleads the fifth — she technically had her eyes closed.
I’ve been running errands all day // helping family. I’ll probably post again in an hour
Oh Fiddle Sticks —Okay.
*has no idea what pleading the fifth means*

I see.Oh Fiddle Sticks —
Sorry, I’ll explain briefly; “Plead the fifth” is an expression American’s use when they want to remain silent. It actually stems back to our Fifth Amendment rights:
“No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.”
For the most part the only time you’ll hear it is from snarky Criminal Justice Majors in the US (Me) or from people about to be arrested (I plead the fifth) to an officer / court of law in the US.
It’s merely an expression used in this day and age — I guarantee someone who uses the constitutional amendments with the police here either winds up arrested, beaten up, or flat out killed and have it justified under “they were resisting arrest”. But thats a whole other situation that needs to get addressed.I see.
I think people over here usually just say they have the right to remain silent.
Or they just keep silent.
Or they just mouth off for being arrested.

The punishment seems suitable~After writing up the report on the matter with Lisette and Swir breaking curfew and disturbing the entity in the Library, I went with Isaac to the Headmaster's office to deliver it. Knocking on the door, his voice was soon heard saying we could enter. I gave my greetings and curtsied to him, as Isaac bowed, before explaining my reason for being there.
Once I'd finished briefing him, I handed the report to him concerning the extent of the damages to the library books, the bookshelves, the wooden floor, the furniture and some of the carpets having singe marks. The report went on to explain that it was due to a First year and Third year (names given in full detail within the report) had broken curfew last night and entered the library, where the Library Committee member - Yurei - had come into contact with them on her way out to close the library for the night.
The report continued by detailing how the Library Committee member had been given the tale that the Third Year was going to be cleaning the library with the help of the First Year. Reports from eye-witnesses stating they saw the two leave the dormitory just before curfew, and the Library Committee member entering the dormitory at these times corroborated the testimony provided by said Committee Library member. My report went on to detail other things, such as how the First Year proceeded to skip all morning classes today before making an appearance at lunch time due to the Enchantment Professor visiting her at her dormitory room shortly after that class had ended.
With all said and done, the Headmaster thanked Isaac and myself for our report before saying he will discuss how to punish the two students involved with the Head Librarian who was still livid over what had happened and had slipped a disc from the shock and currently in the Infirmary getting treated by the Nurse. We were dismissed from his office, which prompted us to say our goodbyes before heading off for our afternoon patrol.
Exiting the office, I saw Isaac stretch his arms up and give a deep sigh of relief while beaming a giant smile at me. He said, 'Good work, President,' before saying it was time we should start our patrol. I smiled wryly as I thought about poor Lisette's expression when she got found out but knew it would prove to be a good lesson for her...hopefully. With that, the Secretary and myself began our usual route for patrolling.

x.x)/ Please don't make the Headmaster of the Royal Magical academy Incompetent. It was a fine afternoon when Swir quietly entered a certain office, locking the door calmly behind her, an act which made the occupant wince.
"Did you have a pleasant afternoon?"
The correct answer here was not yes. The chair's occupant shifted uncomfortably, wisely remaining silent.
"I went through all the reports, you know. I'm pretty sure it must have taken quite a while to write. Shall I jog your memory a bit? Students Lisette Harper and Swir P. Nacht snuck into the library after hours, causing damage to infrastructure and books. Oh, nd here's an request for severe punishment. S-e-v-e-r-e P-u-n-i-s-h-m-e-n-t."
The sweating man made to say something, but was cut off by a furious roar.
"Ex-f*cking-scuse me, you alter wichser. What part of Don't-make-my-f*cking-job-difficult-for-me did you not get? I warned you the last time this sh*t happened, didn't I? HUUUUUH? I already stated the things I needed on my end, and you were supposed to work things out on your end. The Library Ghost isn't going to f*cking show itself willingly to me without a student as bait. And what have you done in the aftermath? F*cking nothing at all, you die Arschmade. Do me a favor, go choke on a moldy old weiner and die in the f*cking ditch, will you? Then maybe the f*cking replacement will actually be smart."
Swir had already started walking out as she ranted, but before she reached the door, the girl quietened down, and tilted her head to stare at him from the corner of one eye.
It didn't give him a very good feeling.
"You didn't think I was going to let you off that easily, did you?"
"Uhm...but you said you---"
"Aye, but the difference is that I'm real pissed now. What did I tell you at the start of last winter? Make the Wonders public knowledge, I said. Or at least tell the teachers. People may do risky things, but they're not stupid. It's better to be actively aware of things around the academy that can hurt, that can kill. And the outcome? The wise headmaster decides to hide the news, leading to the situation where I'm receiving complaints whilst doing my job. No, I've just about had it at this point. If people want to complain so much, they can also do my job for me."
"Wait! There's still---"
"Good luck suppressing the last 3 Wonders, Headmaster. I'm sure that with your impeccable insight, such a thing would be trivial. And if you're smart, you'll tell your students to hide in their rooms and lock the doors after lights out. It's about time I taught some people a lesson. Tonight's going to be a bloody night."
The door closed behind her.

o.o)/ He'd had to fight fiercely, show lots of Talent, have lots of connections, and have to have some degree of personal power to be Headmaster.
^.^)/ I'll get to it~o7
Would appreciate it if you did that since I don't really like ending up hogging the NPC's.

^.^)/ Seems fine then~I embellished it a little, but yeah, I won't make him too incompetent
The thought process goes something like this: The Headmaster didn't want the Seven Wonders to be too well-known, because if it had gotten out that there were things around the academy that could seriously injure or kill students, it would undoubtedly cause harm to the school's reputation, and there was someone one hand (Swir) to take care of the matters.
On the other hand, because it's essentially a thankless job and she even ended up getting a penalty for it, Swir got mad and decided to since the Headmaster wasn't going to do anything about it, she would do something about it. It's probably going to be a long, gruelling event with little casualties at the end![]()
*is curious how a 17 year old with average magic ability can do this when the Headmaster of the Royal Magic Academy can't*I embellished it a little, but yeah, I won't make him too incompetent

^.^)/ Ah Actually maybe not an event, since people can't go in an rp with itMini Event - Seven Wonders
This is going to be a terrible night...
***
The girl crossed her legs, looking up at the moon. Reclining on her comfortable seat, she lifted the cup to her lips, and drank deeply.
"Fwah~ As expected, I'm feeling a little better already."
Propping up her chin with one arm, Swir took out a book from beside her chair, and examined the cover, wincing as she did.
...Ah, verdammt. It's too bloody f*cking cold up here for my old bones. Better hurry up and start.
A name was proudly engraved on the cover in gold lettering. The girl tapped the words a few times with her finger, altering the order.
Swir Palug Nacht
Slowly re-arranged themselves to become ---
Walpurgis Nacht
"It's been a while since I used it. I was hoping not to have to resort to this again...ah, well."
Clapping her hands together solemnly, Swir knelt and begun praying in earnest.
Lost souls gather under a crimson moon
The skies foretold a sleepless night
For those which sojourn in the dark
This fading illusion shall hold no water
My life's work shall finish here
Glory be unto His Name
May the light above illuminate the path
This night of nights where demons reign
O Lord, accept my sacrifice
Blood pooled from where she'd stabbed herself with a dagger, but Swir --- nay, Nacht --- continued praying, not paying any heed.
And as the moon took on a crimson hue, laughter could be heard below, in the shadows.
OOC: Starto!

o.o)/ Soo's has an important impact though, to be an event~ I think?
The Headmaster decided to have the offending students help out in the library for a bit of time each week for the rest of the semester
And instead of making them pay with gold, had them help out in the cafeteria for a week too.
They also can't leave the academy for two weekends.
It is technically an event though, since someone has to end the Witches' Night, and for that rp'ing is needed. Also, if this goes well, there's be a sizeable impact![]()
I think the post got edited since I posted Veronika's response.Question, okay so this would contradict what @Nahrenne says in her post — because that’s a very big OOMPH of a punishment That would affect their future outing. And that’s why I haven’t posted so far today because I would like some clarification. Lol
Helping out in the library for the rest of the semester is quite a bit of lengthy time, but I can easily role play that. No problem, I’ll just add it to the schedule for Lisette. Helping in the cafeteria for a week. I guess I’ll also add that to her schedule starting Monday.
I guess for something that was supposed to be common turned out to be something way worse than it seemed.
I could probably still spin off it, like maybe Veronika doesn’t know but the headmaster changed it last minute or something. Lisette could be miserable Thursday as a result? I just wanted clarification because it will affect how her day goes For sure.I think the post got edited since I posted Veronika's response.
