Everyone thinks they are ready for a child, until they have one. Luckily, I had the chance to live with my nephew for almost 2 years, basically raising him. Now, I know that I don't want another one anytime soon.

Which leads me to thinking of why everyone wants more than two children. Depending on where you live it’s expensive.

That is a great question… my brother has 3 kids and his wife still wants 2 more!!! He is 27! To be fair he also owns a house and has a great job but still… I’ll never understand-nya…

I'm not sure that everyone wants children. I know when I was a teenager that I swore off children and then by the time I was 32, I'd had two children 10 years apart. (Daughter is 33, Son is 23)

I didn't think about it at the time, but in hindsight, I honestly loved raising both of them. One of the hardest things to do was transition from "Mom" to "Advisor."

It wasn't a calling either. My daughter was a surprise during my mistake of thinking I was straight, my son was IVF for my best friend whom I've lived with pretty much since we were 14. (That's a very difficult thing to explain, so don't ask - lol)

I guess I said all that in the effort to tell everyone that having children can be fun.

Financial and general life stability can play a large part in people wanting children.
