Let's say you're a god. Ordinary god of the generic fantasy world. Your world has a system, and is generally peaceful enough to not bother with it.
One day, you got sick of it for a reason. You want to destroy it. Even if you violate the divine law, you will destroy it. Ah, also your subordinates are against that and rebel against you if you do this.
And now the question. Why? What motivated you to do it? How you would justify the destruction?
I inherited the system from the previous god. It was a tool to suppress the powers of individuals, and to keep them from becoming gods or having the strength to challenge them. The system, however, was convenient because the old god had cut the world’s population from godhood, this was not a free endeavor. Due to the law of equal exchange put in place by our superior, the god of magic, there had to be a payment to the people. This came as practically skills, knowledge, etc. that could be gained by achieving accomplishments, killing, and practice. The killing amendment was also snuck in by the previous god, with that and divine influence they had hampered the progress of their world. No one outside of the more accomplished researchers knew how magic, qi, etc. worked. They never needed to because they could always kill or practice to get better. Nations that tried to establish research programs were suspiciously embroiled in war and slaughter soon after. So that status quo existed until the old guy had two spaghetti meals in one day, for breakfast and dinner, and was punished. I now have to clean up this mess of a world.
