I use margarine seldom, but it works for frying toast in the pan

Butter, all the way. I started working on homemade compound butter, and it was one of the best decisions of my life. Animal fats are great, but normally for a meal unless you're a vegan or a broke college student, you're cooking meat anyway, so you're getting the fats that were already in that piece of meat.

Can peanut oil be an option? Nothing can compete with it for deep frying; it can safely sustain a high cooking temperature where other oils and fats will start to break down or boil. And it tastes better than butter too.
