Hippogriff's Aerial Challenge

As your party travels through a vast, open field, you notice a shadow circling above. Soon, a magnificent creature with the body of a powerful horse and the wings of a majestic eagle descends from the sky. It's a hippogriff, and it appears to be curious but cautious about your presence.

Interaction

Spoiler: 1. Approach Calmly

If the players choose to approach the hippogriff calmly and non-threateningly, they may make a Charisma (Animal Handling) check to gain its trust. Success could lead to a positive interaction.

The hippogriff becomes an ally, offering aerial transportation or assistance in future quests.

Receive one hippogriff summoning scroll. (one-time use.)

Players might attempt to offer the hippogriff a gift or bait to establish rapport. A successful Dexterity (Sleight of Hand) or Charisma (Persuasion) check could win its favour.

Hippogriff pecks you for each failed attempt. (3 chances then it attacks you) if failed refer to option 3.

Spoiler: 3. Combat Initiation or Insult Hippogriff

If the players attack the hippogriff or insult or behave aggressively, it will defend itself. This can lead to a challenging aerial battle.

Objective defeat hippogriff in combat.

Reward: Hippogriff feathers, beaks, or talons, which could be sold or used in crafting magical items. Roll d20 with the advantage of selling them immediately and receive gp equal to the value of the higher roll.

Rolling with advantage means rolling twice keeping the higher roll and discarding the lower one.
End of random event.
