Wait, but technically... there would no friction, so you'd fall to the center of the earth, and out the other side, and either be able to rematerialize there for quick travel across the globe, or fall all the way back to where you started. And if you were moving while you did that, you'd keep your momentum, so you'd come back in a different place... eventually you'd be able to predict and semi-control it, and then the power would be- still terrible, really janky and time-consuming, but technically useable! Until you accidentally rematerialize in a wall.

...Also there's a guy in MHA who's power works just like that basically, but he can localize it to certain parts of his body, and when he materializes in an object he gets pushed out, clipping through it instead of getting squished or fused or something freaky.

But if there's no frisction, that means you are not interacting with air in any way... so no breathing either. Can you hold your breath long enough to come out the other side of Earth?
