Have you ever sat on a novel idea too long and now it became stale because someone else wrote it?

I never really understood it...those things should be plot drivers, not plot armor. And the rage seems to almost be a trope. Living in China must really suck.

GUYS! I AM STOCK! Should ı send the new chapter that already 16 pages or write more?

who? I don't care. You are speaking MY language badly. Understanding for your predicament doesn't mean I need to accept your writing poorly in MY language. If you want to write well, write in your own language, and then distribute it on sites where your mastery of the language is...

What Works Best In Fantasy Romance Genre?

One of the things that it takes a writer a truly long time to understand is that writing, on its own, writing a good story, is an intellectual task. What I mean is, writers, unlike many other artists, need to be more intelligent to even find joy in the task. Reading, however, does NOT require...

What Works Best In Fantasy Romance Genre?

Nothing wrong with writing purely to sell it. I used to work for Roy Rogers. I used to make lots of hamburgers just to sell them, and none one was ever accused of being 'mercenary' for it. Why is writing different? 'artistic sellout' only means the person saying it is a failure and hates other...

What are the copyright and ownership policy of Royal road?

Nope, just your soul and humanity.

Have you ever sat on a novel idea too long and now it became stale because someone else wrote it?

Sometimes people have the same concepts, but they are always inferior. My lack of success is due to poor marketing, not poor writing. I tell myself that every morning. It helps, and it's true, so there's that :)

    Hero Story Idea

I am only 200 pages into it... It's the one I write every time I get pissed off at stupid politicians. Haven't posted it yet. Actually I write when I am ticked off at modern 'let's tear everything apart' tropes, like... The Boys, and basically every marvel and star wars movie that's been made...

What’s your type in men? ?

Dudes I can game with? Anyone that doesn't play RPG's, multiplayer games, or amateur sports is subhuman and not worth hanging out with. Otherwise, what are you going to do, watch TV and bust on the ugly, retarded psychos from 'the view'?

Male protagonists or female protagonists: which one do you prefer?

After being married twice and raising 3 daughters, I have ZERO interest in female viewpoint fiction, especially since most of them are male viewpoints with their P replaced with a V. The real reason fathers don't understand their wives and daughters is because they choose not to...

Ignoring content, what do you think is the minimum number of chapters in a novel to be considered worth reading?

225 pages. Below that, it feels like a short story or a cash grab

Have you ever sat on a novel idea too long and now it became stale because someone else wrote it?

Thank you for that comic. it's perfect. Right up until you start adding in the 'Chinese fanfiction porn' writers, who make a third cake out of feces.

The Commoditization of Creativity *Ghost Writing Farms*

Has anyone seen the movie 'Stranger than fiction'? It is literaLLY an evisceration of EVERY bad writer and publishing trope, but the humor is too subtle for most people to even realize that it's about terribly stupid publishing practices. Or rather, only those who have actually gotten involved...

What are your thoughts on narrative protagonists and main protagonists in fiction?

meh, it still feels like a lazy narrative shortcut to avoid too deep an introspection into a challenging character viewpoint. I much prefer "There, but for the grace of god, go I" rather than creating an overly-complex character and dropping the ball on simpler characters to explain their quirks.

What are your thoughts on narrative protagonists and main protagonists in fiction?

The Narrative Protagonist betrays the author's inability to create a compelling protagonist. Maybe they can create a compelling story, but their characterization is weak. And I include Sherlock Holmes in this judgment.
