What Required Reading book could you not finish?

Required Reading books are books that schools and colleges force you to read. They typically revolve around some common themes. In my case, I literally cannot finish this book called “How the Garcia Girls lost their accents”. It’s not even that long (200 pages) but I have never in my entire...

    Unusual Feedback Thread

Very insightful! Thanks for your feedback. Chapter 1 (so far) is my longest chapter so I tried to not make it any longer. Unfortunately, that made the introductions a bit jarring. I did always feel like Azzurra was a bit generic (at least at first) hut this pinpoints it more.

    First 3 Chapter Feedback

A ton of feedback threads! Very neat indeed. My first 5 chapters have their tenses edited correctly (probably), while chapters 6-13 still need some tense editing. https://www.scribblehub.com/series/1114892/aperol-spritz/

    The Hive 2.0(Free Feedback Thread)

As of now, I am currently Re-Re editing my novel. Several days ago, someone mentioned how inconsistent my tense usage was. As of now, I am fixing that but after chapter 5 and before 14, there are still tense mistakes. https://www.scribblehub.com/series/1114892/aperol-spritz/

    Fairy Feedback v2

I like to think my writing style has sort of improved since chapter 1. It has robots and stuff. Also in (probably) a few days, I’ll draw the cover art again, hopefully being decent. Actually, got some good feedback several days ago regarding my inconsist tenses, so I’ll try to fix this now...

I just realized about writing a fighting scene

When writing a fighting scene, try to add purpose, a startup/setting the scene, and a good aftermath. This works best for more important fights. As far as tips for making the reader imagine what the fight is supposed to look like, you could just describe it; blow-by-blow. Something like “Today...

[Dark humour] post something without context

I’m not a big believer but i’m not a fan either so i don’t know what to tell the truth about it lol but it’s not like i’m a fan so would be weird to tell someone else to watch the show and then say something about wthat you don’t know about the story and not just a spoiler. This message used...

    What's the point?

Ohhh! A controversial post that I actually agree entirely with. The popularity of (some) Isekai protagonists running around and buying literal slaves has always turned me away from the genre (for the most part because Spirited Away is peak fiction). Though I avoid harems 99% of the time unless...

Shrek 5 confirmed for July 2026 release

Thoughts on the Shrek series? I remember it being pretty good. This info came out several hours ago so i’m later than most people on this.

    Adding Images without using Links

Neat, I tried going the imgur route and for the life of me, it refuses to upload the image. I have the link, copy it in, and a blank (or blue square with ? on it) appears. I’m on mobile so that’s maybe why?

    Writing is awesome

    The answer is simple. Sin(42069)2 + cos(42069)2 = 15(-01.71)

Any writers making money off this site?

Years ago, when I was still George Wash-and-Tin, I made thousands of pounds off of this entity that is called one name. One name that is ingrained in the psyche of earthlings. Royal Road.

How far do you plan your stories?

I have a broad overview of my entire novel, alongside battle systems and worldbuilding BEFORE I start writing the chapters. The intricate details aren’t planned out but are reconned to a fixed outcome. I always have the beginning then ending done first. The middle parts are done last usually.

What story tense do you prefer: Past or Present?

Most (english) stories are set in the past tense. What this means is that dialogue will be something like “John walked to the store. He had a dollar in his brown coat.”, or “I didn’t know it at the the time, but he had a blue car instead of a red car”. In present tense, this same piece of...
