Adding to that, I think it matters more if the symbolism means something to your character. If knights and mages mean orphanage in a half-dwarf i mean, i can roll with that

If it was me id just do it when the orphanage is finally up and running fine imo i think it's alright to keep that shield for now, it could be fun material to write about. we can discuss it later, no rush
