What’s your take on kill systems in web novels? (i.e., any mechanism where the MC gains power directly from killing, like leveling up, etc.)

Let's define a kill system as any mechanism where the MC gains power directly from killing, like leveling up, earning system rewards, or absorbing enemies’ strength. This doesn’t include general growth from overcoming challenges. I’m curious about people's opinion on this popular fantasy...

How many people have had a lasting impression on you, meaning someone you think about at least once a year even if you don’t see them?

I was thinking about this question and realized there weren't all that many people I think about anymore. So I was curious about what it's like for others.

Why does it seem harder for web novels to gain views on platforms like Scribble Hub compared to the past?

I’ve noticed that getting views on web novels seems tougher than it did years ago, and I’ve seen others mention this too. I’m curious to hear people's opinions on why this might be happening, or if it is.

If you got to choose, would you rather have a traditional afterlife of your choice or be reborn in a magical world with cheats?

I was thinking about this question and concluded I’d rather be reborn in a nice fantasy world with some cheats. I’m curious what other people think about it.

The Plague of Butterflies consists of bright, multicolored butterflies. When the butterflies land on living creatures, it causes their bodies to mutate and produce more butterflies. This can create a chain reaction that can wipe out whole cities.

If AI becomes better than humans at everything, will human life lose some of its meaning?

People often value and admire those with great ability, so I wonder what will happen someday if humanity becomes completely inferior to AI. Will we still be able to see ourselves in the same way? Will it seem like human existence has lost some meaning?

What do you think of the terms ‘internal’ and ‘external’ as used in Chinese fantasy novels?

If you’ve read much in the way of Chinese cultivation or martial arts novels, you’ve probably heard the term ‘external things’ being used in a negative light. I’ve often thought about the difference between 'internal' and 'external' in Chinese fantasy. Different authors seem to categorize it...

Please help with a few choices on a fourth natural disaster (i.e., players in real life) story I’m working on.

So, I’m working on a fourth natural disaster book, and it’s going pretty well, but now I need to make some decisions and would like to get people’s opinions on what would be better and/or popular. Summary of the plot: The world was once a bright world of fantasy; now it’s a twisted world of...

Do you like fancy first chapters?

Many authors work hard on their first chapter trying to draw readers in, but sometimes I feel like their efforts backfire. It's a turnoff for me when the first chapter seems 'overly fancy.' When I just start reading, I'm usually still unsure if the story is for me. I just want to understand what...
