I have done a surprising amount of research on the trending algorithm and discussed it with some other authors. I won't disclose all the info but my biggest suggestion would be to lower your upload amount to 3-4 a week rather than daily. Trust me you will find yourself trending in no time.

There's a cheeky loophole, submit random cover art, like a blank black cover or something and then once it's approved you can change it. They only review it thoroughly when you first submit it. They denied my cover art 6 times so I just made it a random thing out of spite and then easily changed...
